Currently finishing up a graphic novel for a script I wrote a while ago, getting ready to pitch a zombie superhero/origin story, and just finished an outline for a coming-of-age story involving esports. Looking to help others with feedback and hope to get the same in return. Feel free to ask me about anything, I typically have an opinion on everything (just ask my wife...)

What was interesting about this book is how the author explains how to properly use rhetoric. It's a seemingly lost art in modern politics, but some examples he gives clarify the subtle differences. If you are looking to improve the dialogue of your characters while also creating distinct voices and ways for them to argue, this is a fantastic read.

Paul, I created a TV sitcom that's set in Pittsburgh. I'm pitching it nationally but wonder if it could have a life locally for now. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hey everyone - I've been a member here for years and to be honest, I haven't used the plentiful resources here as best as I should have - but that was for good reason. I currently have a graphic novel being created from a script I wrote. The artist I hired to make the character drawings (that I used in pitches) was curious about the story and after he read it, he insisted that the story be told in that format. My thinking is that when it's done (target date 8/16) that will be my pitch - complete with storyboards, visuals and hopefully a compelling story that people will want to read. I'm currently looking to produce an origin story for a popular genre that quite frankly is on the verge of overkill, but it's an angle that I haven't seen anywhere, and it contains elements of real events. For that project, I've just started and I recognize that I have a lot to learn, but I'm willing to grind it out just to make sure this project gets completed. One unexpected opportunity that has come from these is that I've been asked to write the main narrative for a potentially triple A level game. The company is going to place the idea on kickstarter to see if there's a legit interest in the idea. If so, I will officially be a working writer of sorts. This isn't bragging, but instead I wanted to make a point that nothing was happening with any of these projects until I DECIDED to make things happen. No one is going to "discover" you. It's our job as "unknowns" to be great at our craft, and get it "out there" in the big bad scary world. Rejection is going to happen way more than someone saying yes. Be ready, but approach from a position of strength - i.e. completed wok that anyone can see. It's time for us to make things happen!
