I am now taking my work of writings and making my own films. Hope to hear from some of you and learn from your experiences that you share on here as well. Thank you for having me.
Hi Dustin I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana too
Welcome Dustin, nice to meet you.

Did not read anything about those procedures, but this would be my humble logic:
So let us hypothetically say that - by some kind of a miracle - the virus does not come back. Then we will slowly physically interact more and more when time goes by. Humans simply can not contain a "1.5 meter society" for long. Concluding there is only a temporarily"new normal"...
If it does come back, we must pray that we get a vaccine. Contrary to what most people think, it is not guaranteed that we will 'ever' find a vaccine.
As long as there is no vaccine, then in life and in the movie business, there must be constant checks when people travel from A to B. Do they carry the virus? There will also be more expensive outdoor shootings because outdoor the chances are fewer crew members and/or actors/actresses infecting one another. And how about preventive quarantine before shooting begins. Also, I could imagine 'precisely the same team on set will work on several movies. Only a few thoughts...
Rutger Oosterhoff, I agree with your assessment.
Opening up is the least.
Thanks for connecting Don.
Welcome to "the Stage", Steven.
Thanks, everyone! :)
Welcome Steven!

I spent almost 16 years in law enforcement because I loved super hero animations as a child, and wanted to make the world a better place. A few years ago, I hung up my cape and began focusing on voice acting, aspiring to be the voices behind all the things that inspired me as a kid. I have my own professional studio, and love how supportive and helpful the VO community is. It's such a rewarding career because I meet so many fun, interesting, and super talented people every single day. https://soundcloud.com/amy-hilburn/amy-hilburn-animation-demo
Hummm not sure why it wasn't posted. Maybe I had it listed in the wrong place, hopefully you can see it now, and I also put a link on my post. Thanks for the support!
Welcome, Amy

Since then I've been credited with four writer and producers credits for television working as lead staff writer for production studio in North Carolina, became a published author, gave lectures, book signings, failed, failed, succeeded, failed succeeded in a lot of things. But that's just part of the fun, right? Currently working for another production studio as Lead staff writer, have three scripts for movie production and television in the hands of two other major movie production companies (Forest Gump. That's all I'm gonna say...lol), recently had my first book review placed on the back of a very talented writer's book entitled, "You're gonna Know me." And finally, starting my own screenplay consultation service (Officially in 2016) to help other aspiring writers take their passion to the next level. Let's make next year one to remember. Cheers and blessings to you.
Thank you, Sylvia. You as well. Cheers.

I know what he did, I didn't do that to him. Be careful, the man loves himself more than his own kids. Not lying, I loved him. He used me, women are a game. I think he destroyed his wife too, lying pig! I will gladly elaborate, sick of men being douche bags. He conned me, he is a master at it. He has no real love in his heart, lies. Be aware! All about him!
Hi Dorothy, thanks for the request.
Thank you for connecting with me :)

I've posted two short videos on my home page designed to spark an interest in a TV show on invasive species, rare places, or ecology 101. After a long career in science, I learned that TV may reach a lot more people. Maybe we should join forces. Keep in touch. Cheers, Tom

Expand commentGreat article and advice. I like the part about knowing your audience and keeping a acting journal for life. I played baseball when I was younger and it reminding me of the binder of stats we kept on hitters, where they like to hit, what pitches they liked. Except with this it is CD like to talk, doesn't like to talk, runs late, gives advice, expects you to be off book. Also the advice on how you walk in the room give the first impression. Auditioning is the job and to work as an actor we need to be good at our job. Thanks for sharing RB

And regarding that notion, for me, Jimmy Stewart said it best - "There's no such thing as acting...only reacting." When you fully grasp that advice you're on your way.
Bruce I like what you said about interpreting and playing the script. Rick you are right, being in that moment and out of your head is key. The goal is not to act but to be in the moment. I had an acting teacher who pushed me hard on that.

Expand postOne thing I'd like to give to my fellow creatives is a bit of my way of thinking when it comes to the "dealing with sharks" in this industry. I am sure you have all heard about the big money types who are the heads of this or that - the "who's who" as they say. The ones who can be a bit aggressive and in a way "cut throat" when it comes to the business of the entertainment business. Although, BIG business types can be "sharks" and can be intimidating to a creative person - there is one thing I have found that helps - with control. I find that big business types are the way they are and that is great - it is necessary to be tough in business and they are good at it. I, just smile and nod and continue to move forward because I keep in mind what the artist must never forget and that is, that the shark is the shark but the artist is the OCEAN and without the ocean the shark can not exist. So why be intimidated by a shark. Grant them the right to be what they are use them for your benefit - if they are willing to play your game your way - if not move on - there are plenty of sharks to play with - know you hold all the power.
LOL Thanks

Expand commentHi Egypt, walk away thats what to do. I came across a nice experience guy who was willing to help me out when I wanted to shoot my short. He was going to introduce me to his contacts but wanted to do my budget for $1000, Something I could do on my own. Keep in mind this is a 15 min low budget short film. It was very tempting since he was more experienced and has been in the haul much longer and made such nice promises. I was glad I told him I would think about it and walked away.
I can understand that. Good job.
Filmmakers, what do you do with your content once you're done? Post online or hit the festivals or both? What are your favorite film festivals? Excited to get my short film, Extraction, out into the world. Trying to make a strategy about what to do next. Thanks!
Dorothy, congrats on your film! The trailer looks great. Will check out the website.
Thank you Tyler. Fingers crossed for more festival screenings. Actor to Actor...feel free to ask any questions or PM me. cheers
