An award winning screenwriter, actress and filmmaker, Alicia champions female storytelling and diversity in film and television. Her brand is strong, yet flawed women, and she promotes black leading female characters who experience trauma and persevere. Representation matters. Hailing from Indiana, some of her stories take place in Indianapolis to bring filmmaking there. Her love of writing came from her 2nd grade teacher assigning the class to writing a short story for homework, and because of her trauma, she used writing to heal and fell in love with it. It was Rodriguez’s and Tarantino’s From Dusk Til Dawn that got her into writing screenplays as a child, and she hasn’t stopped since. Alicia is a green sash in Wing Chun and a yellow belt in Kenpo. She also studies Kali and fight choreography and takes an on camera scene study acting class with Jim Dougherty. Lastly, she has written, produced, and starred in several short films, including Vindicate and Killings of the Land.
