Ian Anderson has been inspired to direct ever since he was a boy. He was an ordinary boy who loved legos and movies. Being inspired by movies like Avatar and youtube stop motion animators like forrestfire101 he turned his legos into life. Through the power of stop motion animation they fought crime, celebrated the holidays at Christmas but destroyed the masses at Halloween and it bridged thug life with old age. Soon though, this little Lego world, a seemingly infinite universe with endless possibilities to a 12 year old, became too small. Lego quickly turned to stop motion which eventually grew into live action films.
Through the benefits of live action films he created his first short film at the age of 16. He created this for an important school assignment about a Hindu's life after death in five days and with a micro budget to. Ian is eager to take his knowledge to the next level by working on a professional set wherever he is required to be. He knows all the roles on set and is learning about directing, cinematography and producing.
Ian has been with professional crews before. Back when he was 13 he was a star of a documentary called Run Run Revolution by Lively Media which aired on CBC. Eager about moving into the film industry he befriended the entire crew learning about each one of their roles and what life is like for a crew of a documentary. He eventually shot a promo stop motion video for the documentary. He has also been a sound mixer, back up director of photography and grip on the Spartan Film Festival nominee Abstract.
