Harlan Hodges is an award-winning emerging composer from West Texas who's engaging and imaginative works are deeply concept oriented and embrace the intimate relationship between improvisation, modern technologies, the musical experience and story-telling. His non-traditional approach to live-score improvisations as the resident pianist for “The Intergalactic Nemesis” 2014-2017 laid the framework for a very rounded and versatile craftsmanship to musical story-telling.
After relocating to Los Angeles, CA in 2017 he now works full time as a composer for films, television, games, and record arranger. His cutting-edge concert music spans from Big Band and Orchestral works, to large-scale art installations, interactive VR, and sound immersion.
His most recent collaborations have been with Grace Potter, Steve Vai, the Spencer Lee Band, the Trondheim Symphony orchestra and has worked alongside Donald Fagen (Steely Dan), Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Third Eye Blind) , and the LA Opera.
