Help!

Hi everyone my name is Peter Butler. First off I want to say how much I love Stage32, it's great to be able to connect directly with such talented people within the industry which is one of the reason I'm posting this here. If you're wondering why the strange title for my post it's because I'm in a...

Anita, normally for a series, you would just write a pilot episode and a series bible, which would give the basic storyline of each remaining episode and then pitch it that way. Normally one would not...

I partially agree that their time has been way overdue.. We do appreciate the talents but people, general people, not in the industry forget that it takes a lot of talented people to make a great film. The characters and awesome sound bites usually come from the writer, but sometimes it's a collabor...

People today are being fed too much action which kills the artist ability

A brilliant response to a probably jaded, non-professional writer - any artist who needs other peoples permission to create art isn't really an artist?? Maybe a HOBBYIST?

Frankie Pace

Everyone has the need to express themselves and writing is a way of doing that. Unfortunately there is an ability that goes with writing that most do not have. I've been a comedian for over 35 years....

Head shot: to smile or not to smile?

I am having head shots done soon, and I have braces. Should I smile in the picture and show the braces? I won't always have braces, and are they really a factor now? Is it possible that braces can keep you from getting a role?

Jennifer Lynn

Thanks for all the advice. I know a head shot is supposed to show who you are. I didn't want to upset a casting director by seeming to hide the fact that I have them.

Janet Scott

Take a photo both ways.... smiling and not smiling... let them see both...

Raymond Scott

Head shots... what's kosher and what's not?

A couple of years ago (eek!) when I had some professional head shots taken some were with my face leaning into my hand or my hand under my chin. Unlike my profile pic here where I have my hand on my hat (I'm a total hat person... I live in them every day so it wasn't put on just for the shoot. That'...

How do you prepare yourself for crying on cue? I still get terrified when I know an emotional scene is called for, and even worse when a director wants 'fewer' tears, or floodgates at a specific point.
