About Gerard

Gerard Myles is an African American screenwriter born in Detroit, Michigan currently based out of Los Angeles and New York. He started his career in entertainment working on productions as a grip. Now he has years of experience working on set. Aside from eating all the avocados, he can get his hands-on, in his spare time, Gerard enjoys mountain biking, hiking, yoga, long walks on the beach, and just about anything that involves nature; from which he draws his inspiration. With plenty of fresh new ideas, he’s currently working on his next good feature script.

Chiseled by his Detroit hometown, Gerard’s passion for writing was triggered when his family was homeless as a child living out of his mother’s station wagon for months - that’s when he discovered the power of story. After high school, he headed to Los Angeles. His brother went to film school first, later inspiring Gerard to take the same path. Submerged in the craft - he now has a diverse body of work from film school - is passionate about finding the best vegan pizza. If you know a place, holla at cha boi!

“Even though I consider my films to be for entertainment purposes I aim to spark something inside the audience that will in return create a burning desire for reflection. My belief is that this burning desire for reflection ultimately gives birth to change. The through-line that I show as an artist is that the answer to all of our problems is always deep down inside us if we choose to look within.”
