Excellent - and exactly ... my goal IS to find that director from the outset ... and maybe then, with his/her contacts, a producer to make-up an attractive 'trinity.'
My journey started as a response to T S Eliot's 'The Wasteland' (1922) and ended up, not as a prose poem but a screenplay. In fact, a screenplayPLUS! My challenge now is to find a director who can transform the epic story of 'The Fugitive Stag' to the 'big screen.'
