Two years ago I sustained yet another concussion on set and a surprise health diagnosis that put my life & career on hold. Two years of physio, cognitive, mental health therapy I'm getting back to normal. Well whatever 'normal' constitutes for people in this business.

Also, I've managed to negotiate with worker's compensation to send me to school for vocational rehabilitation, fancy term for "getting back to work in an industry I love, but with less chance of gear throwing me across a truck again."

In February I will be embarking on a 14 month intensive in CG Asset Modelling & VFX for Film/TV with a focus on environment modelling and procedural tool creation. I'm hoping to take my experience and learning on set on my path to being an AD into the studio and work with the the virtual production teams and artists. Wish me luck on this new adventure. :)

Well, I did it. The Sci-Fi comp came along again, and I've submitted. I've had a few people that I know are honest encourage me to do this, so here we go. Thank you Stage32 for giving us a shot.

Well I did it! Unreal Engine for VP learning path, complete. Certifications in Houdini, Nuke, Davinci Resolve Studio, done! First draft sci-fi feature in the can!

Also, last AD classes needed for Directors Guild of Canada membership passed with flying colours! Portfolio for IATSE VFX Dept well under way.

Been a busy bunch of months. Hope everyone is having just as much fun at life and career!!!!!!!

Well it's moving week! Almost all packed up and ready to shift our lives to .. the house next door :) We are setting up our new offices with a dedicated filming room, sound treated VO/Music office for creating sound designs and recording vocals, and I get my very own private writing office where my editing suite will live. To say the very least, I AM BLOODY EXCITED!!!! So if I miss out on any messages or posts, I apologize but I should be back up and running by middle of next week. Have a lovely weekend my friends.

Hello Stage 32 friends,

My name is Marco. I've been a creative storyteller my whole life, whether in corporate work or just for my own cathartic need to get something on paper. A decade ago my daughter announced to my spouse and I that she was going to be on TV, and despite our best arguments against it, she now is! So at the age of 3 she embarked on her journey with mom and dad as her support team.

Spending so much time on sets in-and-around the director and dp tents an inspiring flame was rekindled in me that had long ago receded to a crackling ember. I had a renewed thirst to get back into the action and so I started (or restarted) my own journey into the film and TV industry here in Vancouver, BC. I've been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful, supportive and influential people that have encouraged me to seek my path through writing, directing and learning every aspect of the industry that I can. So here I am.

I am currently working on first drafts of 2 screenplays, a sci-fi feature and a dark action feature. In addition I'm creating portfolio work to showcase my editing/VFX/SFX skills while continuing on my path to membership in the Directors Guild of Canada and eventual enrolment in the Cinematographers Guild as well.

I am grateful that Stage 32 provides an avenue to network with and meet people on a similar journey. Please connect with me, I look forward to meeting a lot of new friends in film.
