Expand postHello -- I'm an aspiring TV/film writer with a background in journalism and business.
*** I'm looking to meet and network with other LA-based writers to give/offer feedback, encouragement, etc. **
I'm interested in drama, tragedy, historical drama, political, thriller, crime, noir, comedy, dramedy, and musicals.
I'm less interested in most "genre" -- fantasy, super hero, sci-fi, horror -- unless it's very character driven and has a lot of subtext.
Some of my favorite TV series include:
DRAMA -- Mad Men, The Wire, The Knick, The Sopranos, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Mrs. America, Bojack Horseman, Succession, I May Destroy You, Babylon Berlin, Breaking Bad, House of Cards
COMEDY/DRAMEDY – Veep, Fleabag, Dave, Ted Lasso, Broad City, Peep Show, Frasier, Seinfeld, Silicon Valley, The Great, The Good Place, Mr. Show, Monty Python, Chapelle’s Show, Barry, Schitt’s Creek, Crashing (Pete Holmes),
GENRE -- Watchmen, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Gallactica, X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation (exceptions to my genre dislikes)
Some of my favorite films:* The Favourite, Requiem for A Dream, There Will Be Blood, The Florida Project, Birdman, Vertigo, L'Avventura, The Thin Man, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Psycho, Do The Right Thing, The Big Lebowski, Annie Hall, Michael Clayton,
* Ex Machina (another genre exception)
(TV shows I hate: Hacks)
(Films I hate: The Notebook, Avengers, Inception, John Wick, (Anything by Wes Anderson)
Hi Chris. Apologies I don't check this site as often as I should. Nice to meet you. I'm relatively new here and this seems like a talented and serious group of creatives. Keep at it. You will find the right connection.

You actually have the ability to upload your credits, reels, and even loglines for your scripts so your new contacts get to know more about you and your projects.
You also have the rare opportunity to pitch your projects directly to producers (an art form we practice in the Writer's Room) - at the top of the page, click on Script Services, and then Pitch Sessions to select your producer and set up an appointment!
Explore, engage, and enjoy!
Welcome, LaRita. That's an impressive Bio! All the best.

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
