Hi Stage 32!

As the Father of a 6 year old boy, I'm seeing so many kids shows with so little substance, mostly just fighting and special powers with not-so-discreet product placement, and I believe there is an opportunity to tell more meaningful stories.

Some of the topics I'm aiming for are:

- telling the truth / accountability

- tolerance of differences between opinions

- acceptance of our emotions

- forgiveness

- finding peace

That's why I created "The Adventures of Suzey Mac". Suzey, her brother Robbie, and their pet Capybara and pet hedgehog will get into some amazing and fantastic adventures that are both heartfelt and nourishing.

Hi Stage 32!

Where there are heartfelt human journeys being told that are authentic and vulnerable, where we walk away feeling like we're better off than when we started watching - that's where you'll find me.

From a rickety pear tree fort in the middle of a freshly plowed corn field in Pennsylvania, to swimming in the phosphorescent tide at Tybee Beach, to hiking the pristine Georgia Mountains, to giving presentations on the 49nth floor of a high-rise in Chicago, to the beauty and grace of historic Charleston, I've been on a journey to find out what life is all about, and those flavors saturate my work.

I'm an Illustrator who's learning to Storyboard, and I'm hoping I can collect some knowledge from the community to make a smart choice in direction for the future.

Context: My style can go in 1 of 2 directions - Sci-fi or Fine Art meets folk tale. I was really impressed with the animation in Spiderman Miles Morales, Song of the Sea, Klaus, and Kubo and the Two Strings. I love to use traditional media like oils and acrylic, collage, and sculpture, and bring those elements into my electronic work. I'm a painter at heart, so that's something that will always be a part of me.

Question: I've been using Photoshop and Illustrator for quite a while, but it's such a pain to keep moving frames around when I need to rearrange. I've checked out Boords (a bit simpler than I wanted), StoryBoard Pro (learning curve), and have landed on Storyboarder because it's easy to use and that shot generator is well, very very compelling.

Would anyone who is working in the industry currently be willing to share some advice on tools of the trade that I would need to master?

Hi Stage 32!

I'm a second generation artist/Illustrator who's been working for many years as a software consultant, and now that my son is a little older, I finally feel comfortable really going for it as a Storyboard Artist. I'm so incredibly excited about helping Directors craft stories through my visual art, and have recently started working on 2 sci-fi projects. The other thing that really excites me about storyboarding is that I might get to do impressions and compose some music on my guitar as part of that work!
