Mel Barrett began her career in New York City writing coverage for independent film production companies before becoming a reality television and commercial producer, a screenwriter, director, and video editor in Los Angeles.

She is most well known for her LOGO web series, FEED and her NYIIFF award winning script, HEROINE.
