My name is Makesha Williamson, I am an inspiring actress, writer. I have a very interesting story and from that I have currently completed 2 scripts one entitled “Culture Shock (Carnival)” and “Change (The Struggle).” I am currently working on 3 others called “My First Date”, “Wilson” and “A Child like them all”. I would love your input, help, guidance or assistance with my Independent film that I am currently working on "Culture Shock (Carnival)". I have also written an autobiography of my life entitled “35”, which I am thinking about self publishing. I would love your support and would love some great sound expert advice on what my next step to being successful with my endeavors. What is Culture Shock? The film is about a southern girl who loves to dance but faced with fear and anxiety to being the best. Moving from the south to the city and being introduced to the Caribbean culture and dance (ie. Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, etc.) and Carnival by a young lady who is from Trinidad and a few other friends.. I have done casting in both Florence, SC (where I am planning to film the first 5 scenes) and Charlotte, NC to which I have casted majority of the characters. I am currently in need of 5 or 6 more characters. The vision for my scripts are to share parts of my life that many others have in common, and are afraid to express how these moments turned their flaws into life lessons. Although every one of us has different lives and life experiences there is always a similarity. My goal is to express understanding within your past and for the hurtful things to perish and allow us to live our lives. I want everyone to understand life with an open mind, embrace other people’s culture, life styles, and beliefs without judgment. To understand a person is to know or understand their history. I fell in love with the arts (ie. Singing, writing, dancing, and acting) at a young age because of circumstances in my childhood, it has become my therapy, my comfort zone. Singing, Writing, Dancing, Acting is a combination of my life. No matter what we are going through in your own lives, to mimic someone or something with perfection not only makes us feel free but it also helps us escape who we are temporarily. The ability to show emotion in many forms whether happy or sad, allows you to look at things in a whole new perspective. I want everything that I do as writer or actress to affect everyone in a positive way. Any projects I do I hope it helps, clarify, or motivate people.
