A Ph. D. from Yale law School, Madhu Powar Garg was a closet fiction write for many years. Always coming up with story lines and seeing them play like a movie in her mind, Madhu finally decided to write a screenplay. Indian Summer was her first screenplay. Encouraged by the over 25 awards/placements, from quarter -finalist to winner, that Indian Summer has secured in film festivals and screenplay competitions, Madhu is currently working on a TV series about young, multicultural Gen Z women in New York, and two feature screenplays. Although generally Madhu’s work involves strong female protagonists, one other project is an animated series about a French bulldog who constantly bullies his family!
Madhu has also completed the producing program of the New York Film Academy. Madhu is founder and President of the New York City Children's Holiday Party, Inc., a non profit dedicated to sharing the joys of the holidays with the homeless Children of NYC which has treated over 15,000 children living in shelters to Broadway shows and holiday fun and essentials for the last 19 years.
