I've had the desire to tell stories through clothing for as long as I can remember. My inherent childhood desire to create functional, wearable art turned into a deep understanding and appreciation of human psychology and how a character's circumstances, goals and demeanor can influence their outfit and appearance. I view costume design a bit like concept art, in the hopes that a clear visual depiction will inspire an actor's portrayal and help them gain a richer understanding of their character.
I'm a recent MFA graduate and transplant to Los Angeles, ready to work on an exciting project!
I'm not logged onto Stage32 all that often, so please e-mail me if you'd like to get in touch: RACHELAMANDA.HARMON@GMAIL.COM
