Alex Meridy is a Navy Veteran, Actor and award winning Filmmaker born in Angeles City Pampanga, Philippines . His father is an American Citizen from Atlanta who served in the U.S. Air force during Vietnam war and his mother is a Filipino Citizen from Northern Samar Islands. In 2016, after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he studied acting at the prestigious The American Academy of Dramatic Arts where he received an associate degree. In Early 2020, he became part of the inaugural class of the AT&T/VME Media Fellowship Program powered by Warner Media. He currently finishing his Bachelor's Degree for Directing/Screenwriting at The Los Angeles Film School.
As a working actor and performer, Alex expands his passion for the art of storytelling by exploration. He is part of Diavolo's The Veteran's Project where he has the privilege to perform along side fellow veterans and professional dancers at The Kennedy Center of Performing Arts in Washington DC. He graced the Comedy Central Stage being one of the cast of a modern adaptation of Julius Caesar produced by Warrior for Peace, a non-profit theater company. Alex is also a proud member of Veteran's in Media in Entertainment and American Legion Post 43 in Hollywood, California.
Alex's first short film COPE was noticed by IMDB and won it's first honorable mention by a partner film festival then later awarded Best First-time Screenwriter by Vegas Movie Awards. His second short film The Meet Up also received numerous awards including Best Short Film by LA Short Awards and Canadian Short Film Festival and was told to have similar style of Hitchcock. His third film Anything for My Mother received numerous nominations and awards including Best Director at the Anaheim International Film Festival, Best Student Film at AFMX New Mexico and many more.
His passion for storytelling came from a young age where Films and TV was his gateway for the world of limitless possibilities. Alex continues to strive in hopes to tell undiscovered stories from all walks of life and be of service in the Veteran and LGBTQIA community.
