About Matthew

Matthew Martinez grew up as the shampoo boy at his parent’s beauty salon and is a classically trained ballet dancer in the Cecchetti Method. Nurturing this creative talent, he found his calling with professional musical theater, and can still twirl with the best of them on his tippy-toes. After performing in numerous AEA productions and tours, Matthew decided that he was ready to direct his attention towards Cal State Fullerton’s Film and TV program where he received his B.A. in Film and TV Production and his M.F.A. in Screenwriting. For the last fifteen years, Matthew pays the bills by teaching TV writing part-time at Orange Coast College and by working as a network broadcast standards and practices Senior Director Executive for CBS, where he can recite all the classic dirty words you can’t say on television by heart.
