About Verner

Verner Maldonado is a first generation American Film Director and Producer most recently known for his Audience Choice Award wining short film The Father at the 2014 Seattle Shorts Film Festival. He is a well rounded individual with a strong start in his amateur career having honorable mentions for commercial concepts for companies such as Playstation and Best Buy while also having a concept acquired by Haagen-Daz. He was also a Semi-Finalist for the HP Computers/Youtube Video Commercial Contest.

While achieving accords on his own work he also keeps a close relationship working on full production projects as well. He has already worked Staff for feature films such as Michael Bay's Pain an Gain, Shane Blacks Iron Man 3, Matt Reeves Dawn of The Planet of The Apes and most Recently Gary F Grays Straight Outta Compton. Some commercials and Music videos include at&t , Ne-Yo, and Jennifer Hudson.

Among his projects in development his current status is working as an Executive Assistant for an Executive Producer/Director for Michael Bay’s hit television series The Last Ship

His higher education includes being a university graduate with a BFA in Film, a BA in Criminal Justice as well a Minor in Commercial Music.
