About Marshall

Marshall's journey to writing began enraptured with Batman comics, Star Trek, and other fantastic worlds with heroes who looked nothing like him. Growing up in the 5th Ward of Houston, he dreamed of displaying the lives and voices of African-Americans elevated before audiences. His blues musical drama, THE MOJO HAND, achieved semi-finalist status at the Austin Film Festival. He's now intensely focused on writing empowering material with African-American leads and diverse casts. Striving to ensure that everyone, from every walk of life, has a hero who looks like them.
