Jose A. Esquea

José A. Esquea- Now a freelance Director producer, formerly Creative Director TTO Entertainment LLC. From 2006 to 2013 served (Director/Artistic Director of Teatro LATEA) is a graduate of Skidmore College. He has been working as a director in New York City since 2001. He currently serves as the artistic director of Teatro LATEA along with Mateo Gómez. He founded and is producer of Soñadores Productions and the Shakespeare at LATEA series, which has produced Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth 2029 (winner of two HOLA Awards), Romeo and Juliet(winner of four HOLA Awards, including one for him for Outstanding Achievement in Direction) and King Lear. Other directing credits include the operetta La Llorona (York Theatre Company), Ángeles sin alas (Producers Club Theaters) and several readings. He was a contributor to the textbook of essays titled Weyward Macbeth: Intersections of Race and Performance (Palgrave McMillan) and was highlighted (along with Shakespeare at LATEA series) in the textbook titled Shakespeare in America (Oxford University Press). Beyond director and producer, his favorite role is that of father.
