Pj Perez's Reel

The crowdfunding campaign for my next documentary film, about the July 4, 1998 execution-style murders of Lin "Spit" Newborn and Daniel Shersty by neo-Nazi skinheads just outside of Las Vegas, is now live through November 1, 2023.

NAMASTE, a comedy short created for the 2019 AT&T Create-a-Thon. Written, shot, edited, and screened in less than three days. I was the gaffer/editor/sound designer.

Now in pre-production, MURDERED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY is a documentary film that explores how years of mounting tensions between multicultural, anti-racist skinheads and white neo-Nazi groups led to two brutal murders in the desert outside Las Vegas on July 4, 1998, including that of a Black poet, punk rocker, and new father, LIN "SPIT" NEWBORN, and how those murders impacted the culture and community locally and globally.

Parkway of Broken Dreams is a film by Pj Perez documenting the rise and fall of the influential counterculture scene that exploded along Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas in the 1990s.
