Ron Merk

For more than four decades Ron Merk has been an independent film and television producer, director, writer, song lyricist and distributor. In addition to making his own films, Ron has imported films from all over the world, created merchandising under license from Warner Bros. Studio, and produced the on-stage multimedia for the Broadway show OH! CALCUTTA! His award-winning animated feature, MARCO POLO-RETURN TO XANADU is now in worldwide distribution by Lionsgate Films.

Ron's film collections at UCLA, The Museum of Modern Art, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and The Library of Congress and his activity in film preservation are well known. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Indieplex Online Magazine (www.indieplex.org) and is the author of many articles about the film industry. Ron has served as juror at numerous U.S. and international film festivals.

In collaboration with Lionsgate Films Ron is developing a Broadway stage musical based upon Arnold Schwarzenegger's first film, HERCULES IN NEW YORK, for which Ron is writing the script and song lyrics. A number of other projects created by Ron, including both reality and drama programs, as well as animated features and TV series are also being developed by his company, Premiere Pictures International, Inc. ().
