Go Indie Now at Hollyshorts 2023: For The Safety of Theo…

Go Indie Now has the distinct privilege and opportunity to cover one of our favorite artforms in the Short Film thanks to the HollyShorts Film Festival 2023. So along with giving you some of our favorites via our review blog (https://freshbutteredpopcorn.blogspot.com/) we have some interviews with some of the filmmakers. This interview is with FIlmmaker Christopher Macken whose short film Punk Rock Thriller For The Safety of Theo played at the festival and at many others to come. It tells the story of Theo who suffers from a form of OCD that has caused him to tailspin after a one-night stand. Joe Compton sat down with Christopher to talk about developing this film, the importance of a different type of focus on OCD, and how the pacing and acting contributed to making this film what it is. You can follow CHRISTOPHER and all his social medias, plus see his previous work HERE: https://www.directorchrismacken.com/ You can follow the film and where it might be playing next HERE: www.safetyoftheo.com

Festival Spotlight SLAMDANCE 2023 Episode 6 with filmmaker…

Go Indie Now turns its festival spotlight onto another selection from this year's Slamdance 2023. This is Episode 6 as Joe Compton sat down to talk with filmmaker Camille Wormser to discuss the Just Right short film. Just Right is a peek inside the whimsical and absurd mind of Mel, a woman with severe OCD who just wants to do something new with her day. Joe talks to Camille about how she has handled having OCD and channeling that into her creative process, the advice she has for others who might be looking to do the same, and the big question of does she own the chicken costume from the movie.
