"That Jones Boy! Or, the Adventures of a Bastard" is a Musical Comedy of Manners adapted from Henry Fielding's classic novel about the misadventures of a young man seeking his rightful place in society. This quasi-operatic adaptation for the stage combines 21st century technology with 18th century theatrical conventions to create an immersive experience for the audience, inviting a select number of ticket buyers to attend in period costume giving them a slight break on admission prices. The plot is both unabashedly romantic and a bawdy satirical romp. The climax finds our hero on the gallows, about to be hanged for a crime he did not commit, with a last-minute rescue which restores him to the embrace of his one true love. About the Film This comedy short follows Emma, a warm-hearted but self-sabotaging photography student who travels to the U.S. to confess her feelings to a classmate while capturing the essence of the country through her camera. When she finds herself at a remote ranch near the Grand Canyon, her journey takes an unexpected turn as she is forced to confront her insecurities, learn resilience, and connect with both humans and animals in a way she never imagined. Hi. I am looking for a screenwriting partner. I have two ideas for scripts. One is a feature film about a young high school girl learning to cope with becoming deaf. To help her cope she creates a comic book about a young girl who becomes the most powerful witch in the universe. A lot of the characters in the comic books are people who are on the spectrum, deaf, blind, have physical disabilities and so on. If you know about the TV show Charmed (98-06) it has a similar style to that show. Another script I am working on is a TV comedy about a set of twins who move in with their aunt who is a well known agent for TV and music professionals. It can either go in the style of a kids show or a comedy in the style of Two Broke Girls. I will gladly answer any questions about either scripts because there is a lot more to each script. I have started on both but they definitely need a lot of work. I want to look for someone who can help co write on one or both scripts. This is not a paid job. The goal is to enter the scripts into competitions and eventually raise enough money to bring the scripts to life. You do not need to be in New York to apply.
