My comic book debuts at your local store in April

Having reached a new milestone in my writing career with the direct Diamond Comics distribution of my comic series, Guinevere and the Divinity Factory, I wanted to give thanks for the direction I gained here on Stage 32.

Way back in 2017, I entered a screenplay of mine about the two deadliest female fighter pilots in history, White Lily, into a Stage 32 writing contest and ended up a finalist. From there, I started looking for how to develop it into a movie.

I did an interview with another Stage 32 creator, Jordan Barrel, who inspired me to take my screenplay and make it into a comic book. On his advice, White Lily became my first comic story.

I successfully Kickstarter each of the 5 issues raising $25k or so. I now print the trade paperback version of the story (which I invite you to read for yourself https://globalcomix.com/c/white-lily-graphic-novel/chapters/en/1/1/1) in the thousands and sell copies at conventions all over the southern United States.

Guinevere became my second screenplay to comic book project. As with White Lily, I crowd funded each issue on Kickstarter and ended up earning double what I did with White Lily. Guinevere will debut in your local comic store in the April issue of Previews.

I mentor other creators to go into comics. Some go on to great success, such as:

- Eric July, who raised $3.7 million dollars for Isom #1 (https://rippaverse.com/store/isom-1-campaign/isom-1-campaign/)

- Vito Gesualdi, who raised over $80k on Indiegogo for his comic, Superkiller. (https://superkiller.org/)

- John Lamont, a guy I meet in writing groups way back in 2015 who followed in my footsteps and just completed his 8th comic crowd fund to raise $17,500 for Spirit of the Dragon #4 (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jtl2/spirit-of-the-dragon-4)

I feel I have a lot of offer to anyone curious about the process of making and selling comic books. I've done it for years on the internet and in person.

Also, I offer weekly script workshops on my YouTube channel. I would love it if I could somehow offer that to the Stage32 crowd. I've tried listing them as Stage32 meetups, but those requires a physical location as opposed to virtual.

I encourage everyone to signup for the launch of my comic book, Guinevere and the Divinity Factory over at my website. (https://landing.pocketjackscomics.com/guin) You will also find a link there for reading the work online.

Take care everyone!

Very cool! I desperately wanna write for comics - but it turns out publishers won't buy just comic scripts but need completed books first, and artists are EXPENSIVE! lol

Great job and congrats to you on yours!

Hi Preston, nice cover art, I'm also a collector

Billy: I offer variant covers from my network of talented artists. The art team which rendered the books interior pages created the image for the main retail cover shown in the original post. That way, you know the level of quality you'll see on every page.

Travis: Writers get no glory in comics, but the bar to making your own has never been lower.

This looks awesome Preston Poulter ! My first release was a graphic novel so I know how hard comics are to put out. It's nothing like a prose novel.

Preston Poulter

Wow, that's neat. How do you tag people in this app?
