Hello visionaries. Ten years ago I completed my first novel and intended to see it on the big screen. It is a period Biopic. I had a dream come true moment where Martin Scorsese asked me to pitch it to his manager at LBI. I was so new and excited but I flopped landing on my face! Worst pitch of my life! So I decided to write something entirely different - a sci-fi horror action thriller. I have been on this project for over seven years. I have had numerous producers and others wanting to sell it. Finally I decided I would produce it. As of the last six weeks we have momentum. I have a director, editor, sound team, another producer, line producer/ UPM and talent being attached. The director and I are working together as writers ("and"). As of yesterday I have his first draft of rewriting my seven years of script. The momentum is exciting and we have development execs. Because of changes to the script we we will be creating a new pitch deck over the coming month. We are almost ready for sales agent/ distributor reach outs and will also go for Slated scoring. We have a go for it goal of principle photography by mid October. Watch for crew calls and casting for "INK" in New Mexico. This is going to be a blast!

Where in New Mexico? Curious as we live in the extreme corner of SW Kansas and visit the state regularly.

Congratulations, Michael D. Lancaster. Thanks for sharing your story. It brings out two points: persistence and consistency. Best of luck!
Great to meet you, Michael D. Lancaster. You were asked by Martin Scorsese to pitch?! The pitch didn't go well, but did you learn something from it?
