I agree with Dan. I just got a message from a producer, so I would like to know who you're referring to.

Also the way the scam works. They will just change names but keep the method.

Thanks everyone! I mean damn it so sucks that we need to fight this on top of fighting for our dreams. I can't name the actual person because I don't know who they are, all I know they aren't who they claimed to be and I don't want to disparage an innocent victim of their attempted crime.

I don't want anyone to think this didn't affect me. It was devastating to find out it was just a scammer, for real.

Who is it

WL - just bite the bullet and out 'em - think of it as a PSA.

If it's who I'm thinking of... Not giving name, but really it's a hell. If is published as agent talking about a business. I reported it with a red flag. If it's not the same, they are coming here... I would add a verification system, a KYC.

I get everyone wanting me to out the "criminal" but he's using a legit producers name not his real name. So here's a way to protect yourself. 1. A NDA shouldn't have option language binding your script or deal details either. 2. If a producer loves and gushes over your script then ask for a Zoom meeting because no real producer would disagree to that. The criminal can't do a zoom meeting because they aren't the real person.

I have to add, If it was really the producer they said it was, anyone and I mean anyone would do an unorthodox deal, we all would. That's real and they know that. What total dirt bags. Hey dirt bags you didn't get me and you haven't stopped me, that's for sure.

Guess the rats are scurrying trying to get as much as they can before their end comes, glad they're feeling that. Cheers to all the writers for keeping this going and letting more people know about it so us hard working writers can be protected from these dirt bags.

These dirty rats aren't stupid they know human nature and are playing with us all. The contract they sent, though unorthodox, is one anyone would do if it was really THAT producer. It was a NDA with things that don't belong in a NDA. If it's not about non disclosure it's not real but again if had been the real guy I would've jumped in, anyone would and they know that. It's why they're cat fishing.

You know what I'm most upset about this? That they screwed with my "breakthrough" moment and I know from this thread they've not only been at it but have victimized so many others. The moment they know we all strive for, hope for, dream about. What will it be like? How will it go? How will I feel? These dirt bags are heartless for real for screwing with that. How very depraved. Seriously.

so what was the scam, asking money from you? What was the grifter after?

Hey Dan he was after $$ plus IP rights that even after you finally figured out it was a total scam and your bank account was cleared out they would still own the rights to your script for two solid years. I mean this is next level for real what these dirt bags are up to. Writers beware is an understatement.

Did the scammer do the private email routine?

It started by a network request, i get them here and there because I'm normally here now and then. I accepted then got an email that to be honest I sent him (?) one back that said sorry I don't have the money whatever amount you're asking for because I cough off all those that ask me for $$. I even told him I'm wary of you because you're asking me, a writer, for $$..I get it, on this platform people pay a lot of money for "is it good et al?" so it wasn't over the top.

I didn't look him up but he brought up IMBD and there were only 2 that had his name and his picture matched one of them. The real producer isn't famous but he has a great consistent resume of getting scripts made into movies and his talent is unquestionable in creating movies he's behind.. But of course it wasn't him, not at all, it was a scammer using his credentials to pull off the scam. He got my email because I couldn't attach anything via stage 32 platform email and he gave me his email more then one time.

Look everyone, just ask for a zoom meeting if a producer hits you up versus you hitting them up. I mean, already if they're hitting you up it's suspect because that's not how it normally goes.

This lesson says we need to stay that path that we got after them, not the other way around. It will save us all money and heart ache.You aren't stupid if you fall for their lies, they are smart and likely people who were in the industry at some point but booted out.

Once again cheers to every writer who has kept this going protecting writers, we need that community spirit to thwart this evil against us and you are all doing a spectacular job of it. It is making me feel good in an otherwise, hard to get through, moment.

WL Wright Lemme guess. Did he want 3K? Also, a director friend was hit for same IRL by a dude with a legit producer IMDB.

Seems by the responses there's an epidemic going on with this crime. Like I said people you're all doing a great job keeping it going so we can get other writers warned, the more the merrier we'll all be and the more miserable the criminals will be.

If u believe them suits and toilet dresses taking poses in front of the labeled panels do a 100% straight job, ure in a wrong business, my friends.... I've met actors, directors, producers over here, 10-15 league outta Hollywood already involved into money laundering, shady politics, tax evading, u name it...

Jo Gomesh, you can report him to mod or admin here but if you click on that moron's profile and you get redirected or get notification that his profile was deleted then, mission accomplished. If he's not removed by some chance, then you can write a short message to Stage32 stuff and they'll wipe him out, since none of us can but it looks like he's no longer with us.

Now that the fake account is gone I can tell you all he or she, whoever they really are, were using the producer Richard Kelly's pic and identity and he's their victim too.

WL Wright. I am confused. I got an invite from Richard Kelly who asked me for $1,000 to collaborate with him. I don't pay anything ever but out of curiousity was that Richard Kely asking for money or someone else pretending to be Richard Kelly?

I keep getting lenders who want to make loans. Even if they are legitimate lenders it seems like they are wasting their time here. I just delete them.

Very disturbing but reality. Got the same attempt some time ago, detected it, reported and solved.

There seems to be an increase in requests with a message like this: 'I would want to go into business partnership with you there in your home country, for details contact me on .... '
