Filmmaking / Directing : In honor of National Dog Day, what's your favorite dog movie? by Rosemond Perdue

In honor of National Dog Day, what's your favorite dog movie?

Happy Dog Day to all the dog moms and dads. Planning on watching a Dog Movie tonight to celebrate national dog day so want some suggestions: What's your favorite dog film? Beethoven? Clifford? I think my go to is Lady and the Tramp, how can you go wrong with songs from the legendary Peggy Lee?

Share your suggestions and a pic of your pup!

Maurice Vaughan

Beautiful dog, Rosemond Perdue! My favorite dog movie is "Cats & Dogs."

Paul DeLesDerniers

Lady and the tramp for sure.

Mark Warrilow

Can’t be forgetting the 2 greatest dog movies Turner and hooch! And K9 amazing movies.

Magnifique Ecrivaine

I had no idea there's a thing as Dog day, however, I think it's cool. My novella about a dog saving her human family from danger would be out on Amazon by next month. I hope my fellow dog lovers will love it!

Dan Herman

Hachi: A Dog'sTale

Rosemond Perdue

Mark Warrilow! I totally forgot out Turner and Hooch, I need to rewatch. How can Tom Hanks plus a dog ever be a bad idea :)

Rosemond Perdue

Dan Herman, your brood is soooooo adorable. Who are they? And I'm not familiar with Hachi: A Dog's Tale, I'll have to watch.

Rosemond Perdue

Magnifique, can you share a link to your novella when it is up?

E Langley

MARLEY AND ME.

Another vote for the heartbreaking, true story, HACHI: A DOG'S TALE. Gere returning from beyond to call Hachi is a big weep.

Rosemond Perdue

Marley and Me made me cry too much! There is actually a website called "DOES THE DOG DIE?" that lists if the dog dies in a movie so you know before watching.

Maurice Vaughan

Also "The Adventures of Milo and Otis." That might be considered a cat movie too. :)

Dan Herman

Rosemond Perdue. Gracie, Bambi, Sprout & Hook. Hook passed away the day before Thanksgiving 2021.

Julia Warren

Cats and Dogs (1 & 2)... don't have a pup....but I think giant chows are fantastic

Lloyd Dsouza

“Eight below” gets my vote.

Eric Sollars

The Lassie movies of old were always exciting.

Babatunde Ehimai

I'd say...

1. Cats & Dogs

2. Turner & Hooch

3. Man's best friend

4. K-9

In that order.

Rosemond Perdue

OK I am adding Cats and Dogs to my watch list. It's been way too long since I've watched. Next, on Cat Day, we'll have to find cat-centric films!!

Eric Sollars

The Wizard Of Oz.

Amy Jayne Conley
