About Babatunde

I've had a decade's experience as a copywriter for STB McCann (a foremost Nigerian AD agency) and I've had the opportunity of writing tons of copies for many notable brands like Coca-Cola, Nestle, Guinness and The United Bank for Africa (UBA) to name a few.
I decided to try my hands at screenwriting, because, movies have always been my passion, and my first script, "The Devil's Dowry" became a successful play performed in many local churches across Lagos. The success of TDD gave me the courage to move fulltime to Nollywood (Nigeria's home movie sector) where I wrote and co-produced four feature length screenplays namely (1) A Mother's Tears, (2) Metal Trigger, (3) A Fool's Conscience and (4) Akoni (meaning Warrior).
Not contented with the production values of Nollywood movies, I decided to try my hands at Hollywood and sent my first Hollywood feature length screenplay "The Man Who Saw The Devil" to a couple of screenwriting contests, including the American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest, and although I never won any of those, but the placements and feedback I got from those contests gave me the courage I needed to forge ahead.
Several rejections and rewrites later and that script was optioned by a Hollywood production company. Since then there's been no looking back.
The genres I write are Action, Horror and Comedy (Sometimes with a doze of the Supernatural/fantasy mixed in) and my ultimate goal is to meet similar creative minds who share my taste in movies and can help get my work out there on the celluloid screen
