Langley Coleman Not to mention that George almost had severe conditions with his health. Which is why he opted out as being director for The Empire Strikes Back. When he decided to retire he wanted to give back Star Wars so other generations can continue the story. Unfortunately he gave it to big wigs. The ones who appreciated his indie work made ‘The Mandilorian’ and ‘The Book of Bobba Fett’. Not to mention other projects down the pipeline.

Of course I'd love to have my work produced. The idea of seeing my characters alive and in some cases resurrected is exciting. However, as a trained writer/editor I am more than happy to help fix and in many cases elevate a story.

Craig, thanks so much for posting this...especially the clinching message: "Go get better at what you are good at."

Dan MaxXx, You are 100% correct. I have a crew for my non-writing activity. These are my “set and forget” people. I tell them the outcome and it is achieved. People find that attitude in the film industry somehow evil or a closed shop. You build a team and then rely on them.

Armen, I don’t know if they use AI to generate work. I think the massive army of writers will to work for crumbs makes the investment in that tech less attractive.

Maurice Vaughan Yes, I believe so. It helps me add layers, exploring the impact and reactions they might have...but also, and probably most importantly has really helped me view them with curiosity and without judgement. Or in therapist-speak, 'unconditional positive regard' haha.

It probably helps you write therapist scenes also, Eliesha Steel. I struggle with those sometimes.
