Thinking of moving to Atlanta.

Hey everyone! So, I'm thinking of moving to Atlanta from Florida to get into the acting and filmmaking scene. What do you guys think of Atlanta? Originally I wanted to move to Charlotte, NC but everyone is telling me the work there is slim. Would love you hear your feedback. God Bless!

Heidi Angell

There is a lot of theatre that way, but much of it is like dinner theatre.

Mario Mabe

I think Louisiana has a lot more going on than Atl. But NY and LA are tops for acting but a lot more top flight competition.

Lucifer Divinitas

Austin TX has a film scene. Thanks to Robert Rodriguez.

Lots of New Studios are comming to Atlanta. Lot of film Industry Mixer that you cant find in LA you will find here in Atlanta. Those mixers bring a lot of contact and movies.Atlanta have a lots of mayor shows onTVand more to come this year.. I had done 18 movies in the last 2yrs here in Atlanta not counting Music videos ect. and of course is depend your work field, But I have a lots of actors, directors, producers and Crew who works in a steady flow too.

Atlanta is great. Charlotte is hoppin' when it comes to production. I know I'm losing jobs as local (Los Angeles) producers are shooting in N.C.

Scott Andrew Hutchins

Lyse, I was brought to Jacksonville to work for one of my film school colleagues. Nobody believed me that I worked for a film company because films haven't been made much there since the silent era. When I got fired, I went back to New York. with $112 a week in unemployment, it meant a homeless shelter anywhere, and my belongings are in a storage facility in New Jersey, so...

Eli YES YOU SHOULD COME!!! I can't begin to tell you all the opportunities that's flourishing here, especially in the production department. So many production companies are making there home here

Rachael Saltzman

Atlanta is a film and t.v. hub, Miami is not. Orlando if you want to work on rides or be a Disney character.

Benjie Anderson

C'mon up, Eli. "The business" is kind of in its infancy in Atlanta, however, like a toddler who is just getting their legs under them to stand and walk... it is happening. Come, make your mark, and stake your claim. It will only get BETTER going forward.

Awesome guys. Thanks!!

From everything I've heard, Atlanta is a great place to find work in the industry, especially for television!

Shellie Schmals

E Peña - did you ever make it to Atlanta?? What have you been up to?

E Peña

Hey everyone!! Wow!! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I posted this!! Yes, Shellie, I moved to Atlanta 9 years ago and found great success with with an agent, television work and an awesome acting coach who now is a close friend!! I’m so glad I made the decision to move to Georgia. Now I find myself in a new territory. Maryland!! I’m going to venture around here and see what I can find for work as an actor. At least I’m close to New York and Philadelphia. Let’s see what God has planned for me here!
