About Teng

I never get invited to movie nights because I’m the guy who’ll spoil the plot twist 20 minutes in - not to show off, but because I can’t help dissecting story structure. I’ll be interrupting every 10 minutes to break down why a scene works, turning the experience into a mini film school, complete with running commentary. So, if you’re after a quiet viewing experience, I’m probably your worst nightmare.

But if you’re looking for a writer (especially one who overthinks everything), I might just be the perfect fit. I’ve had 5 musicals (2 of them had reruns because they made a lot of money), 5 plays, and 2 short films produced, and I’m proud to have won the International Screenwriters’ Association’s Table Read My Screenplay Genre 2021 (historical/biopic).

Biopics are my first love, but I do have flings with other genres—sci-fi, comedy, thrillers—because what’s life without a little fun on the side? When it comes to ‘my type,’ I have a special passion for stories that explore technology, finance, geopolitics, and ethics.

Managers: Tammy Hunt and Jamie Bradley (Sandstone Artists).

Unique traits: Serving up unapologetic Asian stories in English
