I was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1968. My mother didn't want me to become an actor and so I was send to a school to become bookkeeper. This went wrong and at age 18 I left school without any degree. In 1992 after a whole range of jobs going from PC/Hifi salesman, salesman at an ISP and even working in a pizzeria for a short time I finally got my chance when I was accepted at the Municipal Academy of Word and Music in Hoboken. At that time one of the best artistic schools in the Antwerp area with a wonderful reputation.
There I was trained for 6 years by Belgian's leading actor Herbert Flack and Erik Maes. I had several parts in plays from Shakespeare, Moliere, Anouilh and many more. The most important lesson I learned over there was that doing classical plays on stage is the best way to learn and to shape your fundamentals in acting.
From 1992 till 1994 I had a short artistic break - I only did plays at the Theatre Academy - and I served my country for two years in the Belgian army as a volunteer. They tried to make a Rambo out of me, but that was not a success. I was using my brain to much I guess. :-)
At the end of 1994 I returned back to the stage and I did audition for the part of Billy Bibbit in the Dutch stage play version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, directed by Wim Lanckrock and adapted by Alex Van Haecke. My biggest part until today, I did 80 shows in total of this play and more than 15.000 people saw it. For a city like Antwerp that's a huge audience.
In 1999 I started to concentrate more and more on writing (screen) plays, directing and developing game-show formats instead of acting but from time to time I still accept guest appearances in television series or Belgian movies and you can find me in the streets of Antwerp where I regularly do mime, clown and living statue acts as a street-performer.
In 2007 I was for a short time connected as actor at the Belgian amusement park 'Ooit Tongeren' but the company went into bankruptcy three weeks after opening. Due that I became very disapointed in people and most fellow actors over there. When the ship was sinking most of them where putting knives in eachothers back. It made me loose my believe in playing and my love for the stage a bit. It's unsure I will ever be on a stage again due this whole event. Convincing me to play again will be hard, but not impossible.
Since 2008 I'am more focused on writing plays, screenplays, developing tv formats, webtv concepts, directing, making shorts etc... I do have several great ideas for feature movies, television series and shorts, but I'am still looking for some really creative people (maybe you ?) to work together with. Let's hope I can find those people here at Stage 32. I need the people, the people to be creative with...
In February 2013 I started to study again and since January 2017 I can call myself 'Graduated Photographer'. YES, I made it, but it were 4 hard years of study. If you like to see some of my photo's please visit were you can find a huge selection of my work. In photography I'am using the artistic name 'Ghost'. If you like what you see, and if you want to buy/use my work or if you want pictures made by a profressional photographer feel free to contact me.
