Angela Giorgio's Lounge Discussions

Since becoming a Stage 32 member shortly after its inception I have really come to love it! Although I've lead an exciting life filled with adventure and creativity I've often felt alone. Not alone as in "lonely" but as in not having the opportunity nor resources to converse with like minded individuals. I was born in Detroit and lived in its northern suburbs until I was 36. In 2005 I took a leap of faith and transferred to LA. And I've never looked back. Although I consider myself a creative now (special shout out to Luke Ryan @Pitchfest!), when I was younger I always said I was an artist. I even have two degrees (CCS '97) and although I had a mind full of stories, and a love for reading and writing, I held back. I was a tad shy but always surrounded by support and encouragement. One particular person who encouraged me to write was Mrs. Sorotti in JR High. Even though it was said I had a learning disability when it came to writing I was never put into a lower class... instead (perhaps out of teacher curiosity) I was placed in the center of Mrs. Sorotti's advanced creative writing class. A few of the kids poked fun at some of my sentence structure or lack of remembering every detail about breaking down sentences or spelling. But I was told by her and numerous other teachers, then professors to "just keep writing. Never give up!" So here I sit, somewhere in the future and still creating. Without a care in the world for utter perfectionism but instead honing my skills and just wanting each piece I produce to simply be better than those proceeding. I'm 44 now and since graduating from CCS I have completed numerous short stories, 8 scripts and just last month launched my first e-novel on iTunes. Looking forward to the day I can help inspire others and have started here, on Stage 32, and within many discussions. Thank you fellow creatives for sharing and contributing. So, it's a month later, has anyone who attended had any successes?

I'm looking for feedback on anyone's who gone before. Is it worth $400 to go? What should I expect?

Who would you cast for a mid-twenties female lead? Money and genre are no object. I thank you for your thoughts.
