Ms. Claybon, who's spent over 20 years in the entertainment industry, says the campaign came out of frustration over Hollywood not taking enough action regarding diversity. "I thought after the whole #OscarsSoWhite controversy, things would change. There may have been a few more roles on television given to minorities but behind the scenes, as far as writers, directors, producers and crew members are concerned, things are as dismal as ever... and, funding for our projects are even more dismal." Ms. Claybon is hoping the campaign will shed even more light on the uneven playing field in Hollywood and persuade studios, production companies and television networks to put forth more effort in hiring people of color, not only in front of the camera, but behind the scenes as well. A recent study done by the Media, Diversity and Social Change Initiative at USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism found that out of the 109 movies, and 306 broadcast, cable and digital series they researched, under-represented ethnic or racial groups directed only 12.7% of films, 9.6% of broadcast programs, 16.8% of cable series and 11.4% of streaming shows. And, according to a recent Writers Guild of America's Diversity Report, only 13 percent of television writers were minorities and only 7 percent of employed film writers were non-white. "It's clear we have an inclusion crisis," said Stacy L. Smith, the report's co-author. "Everyone deserves to see their stories seen and heard." The Ralph Bunche 2016 Hollywood Diversity Report stated thatthere is no magic bullet for solving Hollywood's race and gender problem. Hi There, I am a TV and film Writer/Producer and I have been a member of Stage 32 for a while. I really love what Richard has done here and I think it brings a lot of value to creatives in the industry. I recently launched a campaign to help creatives out as well. Every since the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, I've been waiting for SOMETHING, ANYTHING to change in terms of minority inclusion in the industry. I am painfully beginning to see that my waiting has been in vain so instead of complaining about it, I've decided to DO something about it. I have a pre-school animation project that is, not only a really cute show, but I believe has all the potential of being a branding bonanza! (I know everyone feels that way about their project but hear me out.) The project is entitled "Lollipop Park" and is about a family of lollipops who live and work inside an amusement park. The reason I feel it has so much potential is because it is based on a REAL kiddie land amusement park (obviously named "Lollipop Park") that the Creator of the show (my partner) owns. There has been a growing trend with popular cartoon characters becoming attractions at theme parks and here is a cartoon that already comes with its own park! I think most networks are savvy enough to see the marketing potential in that. The problem is I just don't have the contacts inside networks to get it seen by the right people. Although I'm a big fan of Stage 32 in terms of sharing ideas, advice and experiences in the `biz', I'm just curious if this forum works in raising money for projects. It seems to me we're all in the same boat in trying to get funding for our own projects so I was just wondering if this has been effective for anyone. If anyone has had success raising money here, please post and let us know.

Louis, what you have proven is what I have been a student of for over 20 years and that is the power of thought used correctly and effectively. Most people don't realize the REAL power they have within themselves to change or shape their lives, circumstances, or conditions through the use and control of their thoughts. To have discovered that at your age means you are going to have an incredibly rich, fulfilling life! Your story is an inspiration for all ages and I wish for you the best life possible!
