@Stacey Thanks Stacey! It has not been easy and the guy who is directing and producing the film is asking me if I know anyone where I live at who can invest in the film project. There is a chance that we may need to bring in a person who can produce or be a co-director. A lot of work to do.

500 years from now people will still read Shakespeare, watch Citizen Cain, appreciate Rembrandt, and listen to Beethoven. Very few will be watching old Transformers flicks or, God forbid, listen to 1D!

How about this... Use a tripod or don't use a tripod. But if you are going to be involved with my work you had better have seen CK, NxNW, Psycho, Chiinatown (and a slew of "modern" films that do not involve Megan Fox) and you better damn well know the difference between 1D and the Rolling Stones and be able to sing lyrics to at least one Queen song. And you better be able to produce a shot WITH a tripod that works better than one without. Otherwise... "Next."

Thanks, Paul. I'm producing this, not recording it. I have someone hired for that. If this was something I'd regularly be doing, purchasing $3k worth of wired mics would be worthwhile. Since this is an individual project, rental is far better. I'm happy to put money into the hands of the person I'm renting from.

@Daniel - That 6000 is the upper crust. I use a Q4000 ($700) coupled with 16gb of Ram, a medium duty rig. I am putting 16gb more ram when it goes on sale. for a top medium load computer. A high end computer would have 64gb+ of Ram and that 6000 quadro, with 3 SSD;s I have two myself and an HDD to write to and for storage. Opposed to $500. for a GTX 580 that might be a bit cheaper...then the 500. One could spend an easy 5000. on a W.S. Bottom line 15 years ago our studios of today would have cost 25000 easy to have what we get for a couple G's. The bulk of the editors here and Avid as well as Adobe agree Nvidia Quadro for any serious editor. As a matter of fact you cannot make 3D text on some comparably Cuda cored with even larger Ram's inside them. That takes certain cards which are written with specific drivers for them. I am sure there is a "hack" for it. However, most of us do not write C++ or Code to re-write a GPU to only Overclock it to tweak un planned performance out of it. Get a Quadro Reid and look forward.

Instead of concentrating on the name, concentrate on the quality of what you're going to shoot. Make sure whatever you put up is high quality, which means MIC YOURSELF. Don't be like the other 90 percent of people on the net who set up a camcorder across the room and then use the onboard mic to capture what they're saying. If the work is compelling and interesting, people will find and follow you...the name won't matter.

Unfortunately Gary, i don't have a separate mic (being a poor uni student and all) however i tweak my audio within Premier Pro so it comes out clear instead of grainy. Randy - Yeah i am a constant follower of Film Riot however they did a mock about talking about the history of Film, and i only found a few videos that only talked about the characteristics of Film Noir for a minute. I would talk about the time period, and why the characters are like such. Thanks for the feedback everyone! :)

Louis, ever since I was in school (elementary, middle, high, and college), I had 3 areas I nearly excelled in - math, science, and history (I majored in Engineering, then Math, when I was in colllege). SO, if any of you all need to know anything from these 3 areas of study, I might be able to HELP you all.

Monty, not surprising at all. You obviously have great persistence. I own a small production company in Calgary, Canada, and I can't tell you how many times I've been challenged in an effort to secure funding. I look forward to hearing/seeing more about your exciting project!
