Crowdfunding your film?

If you are thinking about crowdfunding or have (will have) an unsuccessful campaign, message me. I'm the founder of CineFunder.com and we are seeking quality film projects that need funding. Thanks! Dale :)

Robert Sandage

@Stacey Thanks Stacey! It has not been easy and the guy who is directing and producing the film is asking me if I know anyone where I live at who can invest in the film project. There is a chance that we may need to bring in a person who can produce or be a co-director. A lot of work to do.

Justin Elijah

@Evie, thanks for that I actually hadn't thought of it that way. I am very grateful that you took the time out to give any advice, thank you very much.

Constantine Ganosis

Hello guys, have got any idea of how to find crowdfunding for a series or a movie?

Latest short film from 100 hour contest

Hey everyone, I just posted my latest short film called The Audition. "An actress walks down the dark, creepy streets of New Orleans on her way to an audition. She keeps her agent on the phone to keep from being too scared. What she doesn't know is a group of seedy gentlemen are following her the en...

For Producers: Building Community Through Face-to-Face Meetups

Howdy, film people! I wanted to provide a heads-up to folks about a new meetup being formed in the SF Bay Area specifically for producers and filmmakers who want to be better businesspeople (read: entrepreneurs). The idea is to tackle the wild beast that is fundraising and distribution in this new a...

Tripods... a lost art?

It seems to me that any indie film can increase its production values exponentially simply by nailing the camera to a FIRM tripod and letting the MOTION part of motion pictures do its thing. I see so many low/no budget indies that seem to think showcasing the camera's movement is of greater value th...

500 years from now people will still read Shakespeare, watch Citizen Cain, appreciate Rembrandt, and listen to Beethoven. Very few will be watching old Transformers flicks or, God forbid, listen to 1D!

How about this... Use a tripod or don't use a tripod. But if you are going to be involved with my work you had better have seen CK, NxNW, Psycho, Chiinatown (and a slew of "modern" films that do not i...

Suggestion needed for lav mic rental in Los Angeles

I'm producing a behind-the-scenes audio track with the stars of a cult classic film. I need to rent 5 wired (XLRM-terminated) lavalier microphones, one per person. Does anyone have a good suggestion for this? I've been getting some outrageous quotes, looking for good mics at reasonable prices.

Tony Donaldson

Thanks, Paul. I'm producing this, not recording it. I have someone hired for that. If this was something I'd regularly be doing, purchasing $3k worth of wired mics would be worthwhile. Since this is a...

Video cards for Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Currently I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CC with an Nvidia GTX 260 video card. This card is not supported for CUDA hardware rendering. I am wondering if I will get a big boost in performance if I upgrade my card to something like an Nvidia GTX 570?

@Daniel - That 6000 is the upper crust. I use a Q4000 ($700) coupled with 16gb of Ram, a medium duty rig. I am putting 16gb more ram when it goes on sale. for a top medium load computer. A high end co...

Help

Hello, my name is Ty Stone. I want to become a better DP, but I know learning from others is the best way. But I have little experience. I know getting the G&E department and camera department is where I need to be. TIps on getting into that field. I'm also looking to move to Canada to learn as well. Thank you

Sounds like a plan to me. I may be out back east this Sept/Oct, depending on if funding comes together for a pet project.
