About Amelia

Amelia has a Certificate in Film & TV from UCLA Extension and was accepted into NYFA’s MFA program. She’s completed Jen Grisanti’s Storywise Spec & TV Pilot Seminar, and sketch classes at The Groundlings. She was a Semifinalist in the ScreenCraft Film Grant and Creative World Awards. She holds a B.A. in Government from Franklin and Marshall College and previously worked in marketing for the aerospace industry.

She's a wry former East Coaster who met her writing partner in a public library writers’ group where the best notes came from a homeless vet who wrote them on toilet paper. Based in LA, she writes comedic TV and features that use satire and absurd humor to explore deeply flawed protagonists and spur viewers to question assumptions. She co-wrote the comedy pilots FINAL CALL (Finalist, Creative World Awards; 2nd Round, Sundance Episodic Lab; Selected Project, Stowe Story Labs) after her experience struggling with depression, and FAITHFUL NANNIES (Finalist, Chicago Screenplay Awards; Semi-Finalist, Creative World Awards) based on her time working as a Nanny for wealthy Angelenos. She also co-produced and co-wrote a comedy web series starring Enrico Colantoni from VERONICA MARS and JUST SHOOT ME (NYC TV Festival, winner for Best Director and Best Lead Actor, nominated for Best TV Show; Seoul Webfest, nominated for Best Comedy; Portland Comedy Film Festival, nominated for Best Comedy Series Episode).
