About Callum

Hi, I'm Callum. I'm an award winning screenwriter based in the UK specialising in historical drama. If it's happened I can get a story out of it.

My screenplay, 'Dark Forces' was the Gold Prize Winner in the historical category of the 2018 Hollywood Screenplay Contest, with 'Miss Verity' being listed as an Official Finalist. I'm working to follow this up by focusing on two new projects, 'The Doghouse Club', and 'The Honourable Gentleman', among other works. All of which I'm writing in my efforts to attract agents and producers.

I studied history at the University of Exeter, and while trawling through the archives I realised how I could couple my passion for writing with my inquisitive mind and flair for finding a good story within the pages of a forgotten time. To elevate these stories, and my own abilities, I undertook a six month screenwriter coaching programme with screenplay consultants Script Angel.

Since 2014 I have worked as a researcher and writer with the likes of The Times and the Emmy award winning Clover Films. I have also worked as a writer, director, producer and stage manager on shows at the Edinburgh Festival.

I am eager to build a successful career as a writer, and relish the challenge of making it happen.

Unique traits: I bungy jumped off a bridge in New Zealand, so very familiar with the idea of 100% commitment to a leap of faith.
