About Crystal

Crystal Friedman is a self-taught filmmaker who does it all. She's dabbled in every possible aspect of filmmaking for the past 10 years and has taught herself everything from pre-production through to post-production. As a filmmaker and artist her goal and passion is to shift the audiences' thinking. She started out making comedic pieces with her friends which strangely turned into darker psychological horror/thriller and sci-fi think pieces. She believes that a good film has the power to change the world, bring people together and start a conversation.

Crystal's debut short 'Virgin Virgin' screened at The Saratoga International Film Festival (2016) and has over 82,000+ views on YouTube. Her second short 'We Are Not Lovers' premiered at the HollyShorts Film Festival (2017) and screened at DAMN! Film Series late October (2017) in NYC. The film also won "Best Film" at DAMN! FILM SERIES and was awards funding for her next project. "We Are Not Lovers" is currently being distributed by Hewes Pictures. You can find these films streaming on Amazon Prime.

Crystal has wrapped post-production on two other sci-fi, horror, thriller shorts she shot late last year. 'River' a short about a time traveling mad man and 'Always Forever' which is about a girl with an untrustworthy robot boyfriend. Both film are currently being submitted to film festivals around the US.

She is currently in pre-production on a new film called 'Monarch'.
