Kind regards
Hi Darren, welcome to the community! Congrats on finishing your script. In order to get a remake made you'd have to acquire the rights from the producers of the first film, but the script can serve as a writing sample for you if you don't have the rights.

Hi all - I am new to this site and am trying to find my way around - I'v written a script for a remake / update of The Swimmer and am trying to garner some interest in it - any thoughts / suggestions / ideas would be welcome - many thanks and best wishes all
T=Many thanks Dan - that was what I was thinking - you just never know how these things turn out - and I;ve got to start somewhere - so here I am
Your unique creativity is more powerful than years of experience.
Thanks Abby - not entirely sure it is unique - but I am hoping I might find out
Ned Merrill is going home
it is worth a shot. let me look into the rights
Hi John - would you be willing to provide some feedback - I hope to learn as I go
Hi all - I have written a script for an update / remake of the 1968 film 'The Swimmer' starring Burt Lancaster and am looking to pitch it - came across this site on a google search - would welcome any feedback - anything
Many thanks -
I'd love to send it to you - if you fancy having taking a look
Sure would love to check it out. Thx!

Expand commentIn the end - I would like to leave the viewer with the impression that Ned could be the victim - their sympathies for him change as the story unfolds - ultimately one thinks he could be a very manipulative character - but the viewer is never 100% sure - especially with the ending - which is very different / but retains some of the essence of the original
Not sure how this idea came to me - or why - or if I am having an existential crisis of my own - or if I just need to have faith in God - maybe all of the above

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!

Expand commentHi Abby - many thanks for your reply - firstly I want to say that I really enjoyed the original film - yet it leaves me with a feeling of slight unease - I am not quite sure what the film is about - and I wanted to capture some of those feelings of uncertainty, and playing with peoples loyalties towards the main character - while emabraking with NEd Merrill on another journey homewards - this time he is clothed, very smartly dressed in fact - but as his journey unfolds, his clothing becomes torn and his opening clean, calm, confident manner also unravel - culminating in a final scene where his reality and fantasy meet. Set in modern USA - touching on issues such as MeToo - wealth - celebrity - relationships and sexual desire.
