Hello everyone! I just want to welcome the new members to Stage 32! You're going to meet some great people on this platform and we all support one another. Also I hope all of the dads had a great Father's Day!

Jason Leach

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day! Question for those who write 30-minute sitcoms, how many pages do you write per episode? Mine range from 22-25 pages

Maurice Vaughan

22-25 pages is good because there will be TV ads. I try to stay in that range.

These articles might help (with your page range question and stuff about sitcoms):

Advice on who I should send my pilot episode to

Hello everyone! I finished revising the pilot episode for my 30-minute sitcom and was inquiring to see which exec at Stage 32 I should send it to. Can anyone provide any recommendations on an exec that has worked with you on a project? Thank you in advance for your help!

Niki H

Well done Jason, on moving forward with your script! I second MB's suggestion of reaching out to j.mirch@stage32.com. There are so many resources at Stage 32 he can help guide you to the right ones an...

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers on Stage 32!

Congratulations to all that contributed to these films! "Baby's Phoney Friend" reminded me of Look Who's Talking, and I enjoyed how "Whatever it Takes" was intense without words. Also loved how "The Passport" steadily revealed who the main character was. All of the films were terrific!

How Many Submissions Do You Do Per Script?

Recently I noticed screenwriter posts that detailed how many submissions they did per each script they wrote. I was blown away by the shear volume of it. I already thought I wasn't doing enough by way of my scripts. My scripts are lucky to get submitted to 4-5 and those posts revealed that those guy...

WL. I can't even match an average of four or five submissions per script...let alone three hundred.

My stuff tends to be off the beaten path, what with my feeling more comfortable writing what I want t...

Who is your target market and then target that market. The pipeline is so clogged with trash that it's become impossible to find that one worthy script. True: It's like trying to take a sip from a fire hose.

Jason Leach

I had no idea there were writers that submitted each script 300+ times. I wonder if they're submitting it all at once, or waiting to hear feedback from the submission and then doing the revisions? I know I need to increase the number of scripts I submit.

Which project should you pitch/promote first?

Hello everyone! I'm an aspiring screenwriter and author, and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one of my projects should I pitch/promote. So far I've written 2 full-length screenplays, 4 short screenplays, and one season of a sitcom. Does anybody else have a hard time deciding which project...

normally different projects should attract different people in dfferent areas...

probably best bet is to shoot all of them to different targets and watch which 'works''

for the intended audience

Back after 10+ years!

Cheers all! I’m David. Husband. Dad. Screenwriter. Horror fan. Austin Finalist. And giant Nerd. After a loooog break (for reasons many) my first script in ten years landed on two semi-final lists in the past 3 months. It’s one heck of a Horror tale I’ll bet you’ve never seen before. Enjoy the weekend and let’s connect!

Congrats!! Well done.

The struggle is real

How do you do it? And by it, I mean find time to write?? During quarantine and then self imposed quarantine writing was my life, my priority and something I found so easy to do. In the year or so since being back in the real world it has become nearly impossible, to not only make/ find time, but to...

Hi Adriana. Like Jeremy wrote, he are all so different. But what works for me is to allow time, at least half an hour/day, to sit down alone and write. No matters what, just write something. The inspiration will come to you, sooner or later.

How do you find time for anything...relaxing, traveling, watching TV...? You like such stuff, you find time...If you like writing you'll always have a time for it...if you need a little push towards h...
