Venice Film Festival Stage 32 + Catalyst Studios Event

The 80th annual Venice International Film Festival will be held from August 30th to September 9th, 2023 and we are thrilled to say that Stage 32 has partnered with Catalyst Studios on a BIG announcement we will be making at the festival. If you are in Venice or plan to attend the festival, please join us on September 1st for an exciting event! Stage 32 and Catalyst Studios will be presenting a fantastic 2-part panel which will feature our very own Stage 32 Managing Director, Amanda Toney, as well as key executives from Catalyst, Mujeres nel Cinema, Berlinale, Premio Solinas and Nastri D'Argento. We will be going over Catalyst's mission to open doors of opportunity, equality and diversity by putting female and non-binary creators in front of and behind the camera. Catalyst has completed its inaugural slate driven by six female and non-binary directors and producers and together with Stage 32 over the coming year we have some exciting things planned! Stage 32 is committed to empowering women and non-binary individuals and we are excited for our announcement with Catalyst at Venice that will serve our shared missions. Debbie Adler from Garden Studios will be giving a short talk about the facilities on offer, including their new building 'The Hive' Saint Walker and Christian Avigni from Escape Studios will demonstrate live how you can harness Unreal Engine as both a visualisation tool and as ‘final pixel’ in real time. They will be offering Let’s Make Films attendees a free half day online Unreal taster course – details to be announced at the event! Montana Screenwriting & Storycrafting Meetup
This is a monthly gathering in Flathead Valley (Kalispell) MT about the Art and Business of Screenwriting & Storycrafting -- skills, questions, feedback on projects, etc. It is by writers for writers. Led and facilitated by script and book author/editor and long-time Hollywood script consultant Barbara Schiffman, the group has been 'sponsored' since 2020 by Authors of the Flathead (a 35 year grassroots organization of writers in Flathead Valley MT - get info on AofF at www.authorsoftheflathead.org). Each monthly session focuses on a different screenwriting &/or storycrafting topic.There is no charge to attend and you do not need to be a member of Authors of the Flathead. We meet from 7:00-9:00pm on the 4th Thursday of the month. But we do not meet in November or December due to holiday weeks. In the summer -- April through October -- we meet in person in Kalispell (we currently use the classroom at a business owned by one of the AofF board members). In the winter -- January through March ("when the snow flies" as they say in these parts...) we meet on zoom.
