Hello, Hello, I know of a few of the main film festivals in Texas (DIFF, LSF, Dallas VideoFest, Austin Film & SXSW), but I wanted to know if anyone from Texas (or not) of film festivals going on this year. I just started a film blog (FIlmpster) and would love to cover some film festivals.

I'm a indie film blogger from the Dallas-Ft.Worth area and I got the bright idea to create a weekly series of six second videos of tips and tricks learned from being in the film industry. Haha right? I'm always asked what hair gel I use, and nobody believes me when I say it just does it's thing. You can't fight the cowlick! I've uploaded some of my work to my reel section on my profile, including my music soundcloud and a recent interactive film project called Transference that I wrote and directed in a week (the time constraint was part of the experiment). It's shot entirely POV, and attempts to pay tribute to shows like Peep Show. I enjoyed your reel! Congrats on the commercial work. Were the last bits from a short you shot? Looked interesting!

I tend to get really, really long winded writing and place myself in this awkward revising position for scripts. Wanted to know some thoughts on maybe how to curb this besides "just write it all and play God later."

Hey everyone, I am a screenwriter and I am just about to graduate from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Cinema Arts + Sciences. I am moving to Los Angeles in January and have written several shorts and features. I am always looking for ways to collaborate and get myself out there as a writer! I did this around Thanksgiving (I think) and thought I would go at it again :) I'm a recent college graduate who worked in marketing, left the field to pursue what I really, truly want to do which is be a screenwriter. I'm a 77 yr old first time filmmaker living in the Bay Area. I'm producing a documentary using filmed interviews with those of us who were kids during WWII. We are the children of the greatest generation. I will have a rough cut after Christmas, a finished 43 minute TV quality film in summer of 2014. The film is titled Greatest Children. I was a 5 yr old tap dancer in Hollywood with a big band, Kay Kyser, entertaining at the VA hospitals so I saw what happened to the men who were wounded in the war. So I have a real early history of WWII. We have an original score titled The Greatest Children theme. My purpose and passion at 77 is this. After film is finished to hit the road, form a national alliance with some veterans organizations, and launch a tour of special events with my presentation of my life in WWII, show the film, and have Veterans organizations share what their needs are so that many more people can get involved. I need a partner - the film is financed, and I have applied to the IRS for non-profit status. I just plain old need help.
