I'm a feature script writer from Toronto. I've been a happy member on Stage 32 since 2012. If you're new to S32, you'll be amazed at what's around the corner for you on this site. It's definitely a life changer. A team like no other you will find anywhere. This is the week all my friends south of the border prepare to celebrate their blessings and gratitude with family & friends. Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you. (We have ours in October). I lived in Ann Arbor Michigan for five years.... so I know how amazing those get-togethers at this time of year can be. Had my first taste of a home-made minced meat pie. I can still taste it. It was heaven. Their secret... add apple sauce to the mix. I've officially started my countdown today to the day I leave for the Bahamas Screenwriting Residency Program a week from tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous. 12 writers were invited down to work with Mentors from L.A. I have no idea what to expect. Hey, new friends and old, good to see everyone connecting on here. I am a writer/producer with a ton of projects going at once, the usual juggling act. I have over a dozen non-fiction books out, several fiction series out and coming in 2015, optioned scripts and more…I am about to launch a horror/sci-fi web series of short films and stories with director Bruce Lucas of Bruce Lucas Films, something that may interest some of you with short vids you want to post, and stories, too! In the spirit of Introduce yourself - my name is Mike Archer. I'm a professional stage and screen actor as well as a filmmaker with nearly six years experience under the belt. I trained at Redroofs Theatre School (same school produced Kate Winslet) and the summer school of Drama Studio London (produced Forest Whittaker) and am now coached by actress Eva Pope in Meisner Technique (the coolest acting tech - EVER!) Since training I've amassed a vast array of period based roles across stage and screen. My credits include (on stage) lead role of Mark Renton in 'Trainspotting'; 'The Duchess of Malfi'; Shakespeare's 'King John'; 'Fallen Angels' and 'Of Mice and Men'. On screen credits include; 'The Genius of Turner' (BBC) 'Voodoo Magic' (E=MC2); leading role in 'The Merchant of Little Venice' (Friday Night Films); 'Easy Virtue' (Ealing Studios) and 'The Kings Speech' (Weinstine Company) In 2011 I started Old Lamp Films Limited and last year we completed our first fully funded short film 'The Journey of Alfred Small'. Presently the company is developing a number of feature films so watch this space. I'm always on the look out for good, meaty roles and projects to collaborate and act in and on.
