Another screenwriter here! I've been part of Stage32 for a few years now, even came in second in their Search for New Blood Horror Screenplay Competition in (if I remember right) 2017. That got me a meeting with a major studio, and even though they eventually passed, it was a lot farther than other competitions I've won. So, welcome to all the new members. Take the screenplay competitions here seriously. You never know who's watching.

Well, I'm a freelance screenwriter. Been working at it for about 15 years now. I've been pretty fortunate with getting shorts and films produced based on my script. I've has shorts play at the famed TCL Chinese Theater and at SD ComicCon. A short I wrote was specifically judged by Richard Linklater to win 3rd place at Houston's Cinespace Short Contest. I don't usually like tooting my own horn, but this is the place to do it, so I've also won many awards for my writing. A few years back I won 2nd place here at Stage32's Search For New Blood Horror Writing Contest, which got me a meeting with the Safran Company (The Conjuring films). They were deciding to greenlight my script or another and at the last moment they chose the other (Happy Death Day). I still enter contests here from time-to-time and usually reach the finals. My profile page get into a little more specifics, thought I should check to see when the last time I updated it. Anyway, if you're new here this is a great group to meet artists of all times from everywhere in the world, So, welcome and enjoy. Hi, everyone! I'm a freelance writer going on twelve years now. You can check out my profile for more info on what I've done, but I'll say this to all the new : I've worked on all levels of this industry in one way or the other, but I've never gotten closer to the big time than from this site. A script of mine came in second in last year's Happy Writers Search for New Blood Screenwriting Contest & it earned me several phone meetings with a major studio. While, unfortunately, nothing came of it -- it got me in the room. I encourage every writer to enter as many Stage 32 contests as they can, & spring for notes to help you get better at your craft. Otherwise, welcome and enjoy.

Just want to vent to fellow screenwriters that might be able to relate. A horror script I wrote called GENTLEMAN CALLER was lauded by several professionals as original, shocking, a great twist and possibly introducing audiences to the next horror icon (their words). It even won 2nd place in last years New Blood screenplay contest and got me in touch with actual studio executives that had nothing but praise for the script and was even told I'd be called at the end of the week with an offer and then...nothing. And that's fine. That's the business and it happens. Those that had nice things to say about the script at very least validated all the hard work I put into it and seemed to understand its intention to be original and engaging. So when a piece of absolute worthless, lazy, nonsensical, lazy, boring, did I say LAZY, money-grabbing garbage like BYE BYE MAN is produced and released under the guise of "something original"....It completely insults me as a writer.

Hey gang! Another Introduce Yourself weekend is here! It's so nice to meet new artists, but I don't know how many different ways I can re-introduce myself. I've been a freelance screenwriter for ten years now. Racked up a few awards. Hello my fellow artists! My name is William Jeffery. I'm a screenwriter. I've been a member of Stage 32 for little over a year. My horror script GENTLEMAN CALLER won 2nd place is last years Happy Writer's Search for New Blood Screenwriting competition & I encourage any writers to submit to competitions here as much as you can. My only advice is to not rush your script to meet a deadline. If it's not quite ready, it's always better to wait until it is. Hope everyone enjoys being a part of this site. Welcome fellow-artists to Stage 32. Feels a bit odd welcoming newcomers when I haven't been a member all that long, but it's really been a great experience. I'm a screenwriter based in PA, working the independent scene in NY, PA and CA (where I briefly lived). So, speaking as a screenwriter to all my fellow writers, I highly recommend submitting to any and all Happy Writer's Writing Competition. I came in 2nd in the Search for New Blood Horror competition and it at very least exposes you and your work to industry professionals. To get that kind of eyes on something you've written, whether you end up selling your screenplay or not, is a great experience. All me best to all!

This business can get you down and fill you with doubts. At my lowest, when I feel like throwing in the towel, something usually happens that inspires me to keep moving forward. So, if you ever feel like quitting -- take a step back and give it just a little more time. Just a little bit more. Because you can never be sure what the tide will bring in.
