Tim Hayes: Screenwriter and author in San Diego, California.

Tim Hayes

Hi Kevin. My name is, Tim Hayes. I too am a screenwriter--well, more like I'm trying to be a screenwriter. I write every day, read other screenplays. Love writing. I live in Ramona. Give me a shot. Maybe we can get together and tell each other yarns.

What motivates you as a writer?

What are some of the life changing experiences that have inspired your writing?

For me, it was helping a friend (Holocaust Survivor) find the place he was hidden in Paris as a child and taking him back to that location when he was in his 80's. This one experience changed me on a very profound level,...

Because I love storytelling. I love creating different worlds and characters and entertaining people with the stuff that comes out of my head. It's fun! :)

I have a crappy phone. I’m not buried into it, so I’m able to grasp mundane more than others and make it fun. I work with like minded creatives too and we bring out the best in each other. also, you just don’t stop. you can’t win every round.

What are the genres in which you prefer to act? As a newbie scriptwriter, I'm interested in actors preferences.

Tim Hayes

I'm an amateur screenwriter, and am curious as to what genre actors prefer. Which is your favorite?

Cheryl Lynn Sherman

Can I jump in and just give a little food for thought?

As a screenwriter and novelist, I've learned that a good script that's well written catches actors attention more than genre.

Genre isn't simply;...

Where to go from here.

Many years ago, my kids forced me to watch, "The Fast and the Furious." They thought it was the best thing since ice cream. I'm car crazy, yet I hated it. They challenged me to write something better. So, here I am, a grizzly old retired curmudgeon of near seventy, who spent the majority of his life...

Tim, join me down at the pub for a pint. We can swap tales of woe. I only have three novels but twelve scripts. Old age is a bitch, isn't it?

Tim Hayes

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I live outside of San Diego in Ramona. I'll have to take a rain check. If you're ever down this way, give me a heads up.

Retired builder, wannabe novelist and scriptwriter

Why have so many of the latest movies turned into same old same old, and also, will the Niners beat the Packers? I've written six novels and three screenplays. Sci-fi, adventure-romance, magical reality.

I'm a retired builder/carpenter living on the outskirts of San Diego, who didn't start writing until after retirement. Since then I've written seven novels and a screenplay. Writing has become a joyous addiction, and I never end the day without a new page or two. In the works now is, The Cannabis Ch...

Hello Everyone,

I am a stand up comedian for over 18 years and a plumber for almost 30. I am looking forward to hanging up my pipe wrenches forever soon enough.

Glad to be in your network, Richard. I'm an old retired builder who now is an insatiable writer. I'm on my seventh novel and second and third screenplay. What have you got in the works?

Rayner Guerra

At this time I wrote a script for martial arts for a comic book that I'm going to draw myself.

Rayner Guerra

Best Regards.

Tim Hayes

So you write and draw--nice combo. Do you study martial arts? Old as I am, I still love a good comic book. It isn't a war story is it? (a little humor there.) Joking aside, does it feature martial arts, or is it more of a documentary about a school teaching a certain form, or...?

Yeah, if I wrote Sci-fi--wait a minute--I do write Sci-fi. Hmm. Do you write? I'm on my seventh novel and second script.

Fifteen years ago, my kids goaded me into writing. A construction worker and part time craftsman background with a couple of years of college behind me--in engineering--wasn't the ideal resume to begin life as an author. I wrote anyway. Now, with six novels, and one in the works, and one screenplay...

What is your proffered genre when it comes to acting? As a newbie screenwriter, I'm interested in the actor's take.

Tim Hayes

Wondered how the LAPD and Anaheim PD would react if a three mile long alien cruise ship loaded with vacationers from a distant planet crashed into LA, slicing all the major freeways, and came to rest on top of Interstate 5, right next to Disneyland. I had to write the screenplay. Yes, it might not be the right approach, but I had to make it a comedy.
