on the 22nd, 28th, and 29th of this month, I am pitching 3 different projects to 3 different producers. I'm pitching my feature, DIRTY BLUE tomorrow, then on the 28th I'm pitching my short film, PEDOPHILIA: A LOVE STORY, then on the 29th, I'm pitching my feature, RED SUNSET, to a film financier to try to talk him out of some money so I can make it myself.

First time here. Not sure of how this works. But might make sense to start with a little about me. I'm a writer/director/DP. I'm currently writing and producing a movie for Universal. I have a feature doc series that Story House Productions has come on board as development and production partner. Plus a few other projects at various stages. One of my favorite projects is a website that I am designing and creating and I would like to eventually spin out into other platforms. The site is in the environment space. Then started a production company making top-end commercials. Mostly film narrative mini movies. I've been meaning to do this for quite some time. I always seem to run into brick walls and the weekend is over before I know it.

So here I am and HELLO to everyone on this amazing platform. What a great resource this is.

I'm a director. I'm also a screenwriter. I've won many awards for my work in both disciplines.

I only started writing screenplays because, well, there just aren't any great scripts sitting around to be discovered by a director. I had been writing my whole career, so it wasn't new to me. But writing a feature screenplay was. I found I really liked it. And I might be OK at it. A work in progress for sure :)

I currently have a movie, a potential franchise, in development at Universal Studios. An action drama in the motor sport space. I have the first screenplay I wrote, titled Shadowman. It's a drama. I've had some great people come on board to help get it across the line, such as Tim Moore from Malpaso and Rob Barnum (Lansky), but it has eluded us. I think a rewrite is in the plans :)

I also have a couple of doco's. One in the public education space and another doc series in sport.

I've also optioned a novel, a thriller, and I'm trying decide is it a feature or a limited series.

But getting back to being a director, I'm open to directing gigs. My website http://writer-director.com has some examples. I also shot everything that is on there. I shoot as DP and camera operator on all my work.

I am also open to partners who relate to the material and can help package and finance any of these projects.

Just optioned my first screenplay! Can't say much beyond that for now, and I know it's probably lame to announce that since it doesn't exactly mean a film is being made. Just to add some context, I've been at this for about five years, so this may give hope to others to know that persistence does pay off!

I'm new to the site and the lounge. Hello everyone. I look forward to meeting you and swapping Hollywood war stories. I started in advertising as an art director and creative director at Young & Rubicam in Sydney... yes, I'm an Aussie, and then Y&R New York. Transitioned to directing (and DP) on top-end TV commercials with my own company and now working on my feature and TV projects and living in Los Angeles. Yes, I have one or two great war stories. Including competing with Michael Bay for an action drama series. My first screenplay SHADOWMAN has won a dozen awards. Half as first place. The majority of the others as finalist. I've had great people attached. Rob Barnum loved it and wanted to finance it, but couldn't get the traction with his partners. Tim Moore from Malpaso came on board and wanted to help. The film has not been financed to date. I've learned that the market just doesn't get excited about dramas. I have a couple of documentary projects and feature and series projects. I grew up reading 20th-Century Fox classic scripts that my grandfather worked on as a script technical writer - Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Suez, Stanley & Livingston, Little Princess, Wee Willie Winkie...

My next door neighbor was the first art director in Hollywood, Ben Carre, whose credits included The Jazz Singer and the Paris Opera scenes in Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera - and was a mentor to me. With that pedigree, its no wonder I knew early on that the film business was for me.

For most of my years in the business, I've been a cameraman (features, documentaries). Over the years I wrote five screenplays for fun, but recently I've gotten serious and concentrated on writing through my Sci-Fi TV series project in development:
