Introduce Yourself : Whatcha Watching? by Maurice Vaughan

Maurice Vaughan

Whatcha Watching?

Hey, everyone! My name’s Maurice. I’m a screenwriter, ghostwriter, commercial writer, and pitch deck designer. I’m also a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I mainly write micro-budget short scripts and low-budget feature scripts.

What movies, shows, etc. is everyone watching? I'm on season eight of The Office. I plan on watching Late Bloomers and I Used To Be Funny this weekend (double indie feature).

Mike Childress

Recently finished season two of "The Lazarus Project", which is great. Dipped my toes in your horror waters briefly with "Night Swim", which I thought was really well done, but maybe (did) recycled some old horror plots. About to resume watching the latest "Mad Max" reboot film (I have strong opinions on the previous one and what I have seen of this one thus far). Just finished the final season of "The Umbrella Academy" too.

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Mike Childress. I'm not sure if I've heard of The Lazarus Project. Night Swim and the new Mad Max are on my watch list. I'm caught up on The Umbrella Academy. It reminds me of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Leonardo Ramirez

Hey Maurice Vaughan - we're on Jack Ryan season 2 and just finished season 1 of "Batman: Caped Crusader". The latter was really good. They used the architecture and feel of "Batman: The Animated Series".

Jonathan Mackenzie Bruce

Excellent. I quite enjoyed it. The acting, writing, production values, score, and VFX are fantastic. Soon will be starting Season 2, which I've heard mostly some mixed reviews about (the season finale, really). The main points of contention for critics are the pacing, time jumps and dark lightning.

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Leonardo Ramirez. I really liked Jack Ryan! I forgot which episode I stopped on, so I'll have to start from the beginning. I heard great things about Batman: Caped Crusader. Is Robin in it?

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Jonathan Mackenzie Bruce. I'll have to check it out. I watched Game of Thrones. The ending could've been better, but I liked it anyway.

Jack Teague

Binging "Unstable" now. Recently binged "The Bear". Deadpool and Wolverine on opening weekend.

Leonardo Ramirez

The traditional Robin is not (so far) Maurice Vaughan . I hate to give too much away but there was an odd episode where pretty much every single Robin that has ever been (except Damian) were together in one episode...but not as Robin.

Geoff Hall

Maurice Vaughan Hey, Maurice. Happy IYW! In our house, my daughter and I are hooked on True Crime docs at the moment, like ‘The First 48’, but have recently been exploring Dick Wolf’s Homicide: New York series and now we have just moved on to Homicide: Los Angeles. I kinda figure the next city should be Chicago!

https://youtu.be/9eK6OCT7PwA?si=ARtQqe798_ae2h3i

Maurice Vaughan

The Bear is next on my watch list, Jack Teague. And I can't wait to see Deadpool and Wolverine!

Maurice Vaughan

I gotta check out Batman: Caped Crusader, Leonardo Ramirez! I plan on checking out the Penguin series too.

Maurice Vaughan

Happy IYW, Geoff Hall! I've seen The First 48, but I haven't heard of Homicide: New York or Homicide: Los Angeles. I just watched the Homicide: Los Angeles trailer. It looks like a mix of a movie and documentary.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, hackers, basketball diaries and no escape

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Lazarus = Brit time travel magic. It's like "Edge of Tomorrow" meets "Minority Report". I THINK you will enjoy "Night Swim". I did as someone whose film consumption go-to genre is not horror. Also watching the final season of the "Snowpiercer" series. Also the "Interview with the Vampire" season two is one of THE BEST productions I have ever seen. Writing. Acting. Production value. Insanely good.

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Billy Kwack. What's your favorite of the three?

Mike Childress

Jonathan Mackenzie Bruce HOTD is great in my opinion. Caters more to old school literary fantasy fans than GoT did. Season two is better than one methinks. HBO is a juggernaut.

Maurice Vaughan

Time travel and Edge of Tomorrow meets Minority Report. I gotta check out The Lazarus Project, Mike Childress! I haven't seen Snowpiercer series yet, but I saw the movie. Did you watch the movie?

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan I did see the movie! I crave new sci-fi so I was an easy sell after seeing the flick.

Maurice Vaughan

I'll have to check out the Snowpiercer series, Mike Childress. I wanna see how they continued the story after the movie ended.

Justin Robinson

Hi!!!!, The office is a really good show, who’s your favorite character in the show??

Robin Gregory

I'm going to see DIDI, a coming-of-age indie film at our local theater. No merci on the big-budget blockbusters. .

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Justin Robinson. My favorite character is Michael. Who's your favorite?

Maurice Vaughan

I heard great things about DIDI, Robin Gregory. I just looked it up (www.imdb.com/title/tt30319503). Sounds interesting! What's the name of the theater?

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, hard to choose, maybe hackers

Maurice Vaughan

What's Hackers about, Billy Kwack? Hacking? :D

Robin Gregory

Hey Maurice Vaughan , the theater is Del Monte Century Cinemas. They mostly show blockbusters, but are beginning to show indies. Thank heavens! I still want to see Thelma, but it's already gone.

Maurice Vaughan

That's great that the theater is beginning to show indies, Robin Gregory! I watch/support a lot of indie short films, but I'm starting to watch/support more indie feature films.

Petra Jurasova

I watched The Instigators ( awesome movie) and I have over 2000dvd’s if is nothing on any channel so watching any movie from collection. Yesterday I watched Hollywood Homicide. I like watching true crime, mystery, thrillers and horrors :D

Maurice Vaughan

I just looked up The Instigators, Petra Jurasova. It looks incredible! Wow, over 2,000 dvd's! How long did it take you to collect that many?

Geoff Hall

Maurice Vaughan the weirdest episode was on the music producer, Phil Spector. As crazy as a hatter!

Petra Jurasova

Maurice Vaughan I think about 12years :) still buying :D I think one day dvd’s would be like movie treasure because most of them goes to streaming tv’s

Maurice Vaughan

I think so too, Petra Jurasova. I don't like that streaming services can delete movies, even after customers buy them.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, yes innocent hackers in NYC, being framed by another bad hacker trying to steal 25 million dollars

Maurice Vaughan

Sounds interesting, Billy Kwack. I'll check it out.

Sam Sokolow

Hey Maurice Vaughan - always great to see you, buddy! We've been a little late to the dance and just finished THE BEAR Season 3 and dove right into PRESUMED INNOCENT. I read the book and saw the movie but it's all new for my wife so fun to watch it with her perspective in the room and they are doing such an amazing job of updating the material and putting new energy into the story. It's a realy cool lessson in adaptation.

Maurice Vaughan

Always great to see you too, Sam Sokolow! I just looked up PRESUMED INNOCENT. Fantastic concept! I like when a movie or show puts a fresh spin on a job that's been shown over and over again (like a lawyer). It's definitely on my watch list now!

Sam Sokolow

Maurice Vaughan - if you've never read the book or seen the feature they made years ago DON'T!!! Watch this with fresh eyes.

Maurice Vaughan

I haven't read the book or seen the movie, Sam Sokolow. I'll go into the show with fresh eyes. I like it that way whenever I see something new.

Petra Jurasova

Maurice Vaughan I don’t like it streaming tv too. I just paid for one month for apple tv to watch The Instigators and will watch few more movies before the end of subscriptions :D

They destroying whole film industry with streaming tv’s etc.. :(

Billy Kwack

Awesome Maurice, it's a fun movie

Mike Childress

Sam Sokolow "Presumed Innocent" is very well done. HBO has long been my production deity, but Apple is going to give it a run for its money! "Silo", "Foundation" "See", "Manhunt", "Dark Matter" OH MY! I also didn't care for the fact that it was rebooting "Time Bandits" as a series, but I have to admit it is pretty entertaining. The writing is superb. Great dialogue.

Abeeha Alam

In the middle of watching A Teacher starring Kate Mara ( took a break from the last season of Ozark, - I came into this series much later). I also recently watched the horror movies Night Swim, which I wasn't too fond of and Abigail, which actually wasn't too bad.

Maurice Vaughan

I liked Abigail, Abeeha Alam. It was a fresh take on the Vampire sub-genre. What genre is A Teacher?

Ian Milne

I chose to watch Battlestar Galactica again, and watch it 3 times through. Also ,The Boys.

Mike Childress

Ian Milne I am slowly rewatching the BSG reboot too. Also "The Boys" is soooo good.

John Paul Kedi

"Strive " is my favourite at the moment and I haven't gotten tired of the movie " book of clarence" yet

Maurice Vaughan

I watched the first episode of The Boys, Ian Milne and Mike Childress. I got busy with projects and other movies/shows, but I plan on watching more episodes of The Boys. I see stuff about The Boys all over the place, and I'm surprised I haven't ran into any spoilers. I'm glad too.

Maurice Vaughan

I haven't seen those movies, John Paul Kedi. I just looked up Strive. It reminds me of movies like Lean on Me and Freedom Writers.

Rutger Oosterhoff

The Office. Good choice. American version, wrong choice. I mean compared to...

Maurice Vaughan

I haven't seen the British version of The Office, Rutger Oosterhoff, but I think the American version is hilarious.

Abeeha Alam

Maurice Vaughan A Teacher is supposed to be drama I think but there is a crime involved.

Abeeha Alam

Rutger Oosterhoff I haven't seen the British version of The Office but I imagine it's hilarious like Cunk on Earth.

Arevik Janyan

Awsome, Maurice Vaughan ! Currently driven by podcasts on psychology and self-acknowledgement of human beings.

Dawn Prato

I'm re-watching "My Lady Jane" on Prime - it's funny, irreverent, and a blast to watch. Unfortunately, that means it got canceled after one season.... but it's a great watch regardless if you're up for a bit of alternate universe "history" :)

Maurice Vaughan

That's great, Arevik Janyan! I've been listening to more podcasts, but I still have a lot of podcasts to catch up on. I might start listening to podcasts in the background like I do with music.

Mark Deuce

I just got done with Season 3 of Valhalla and it was amazing Maurice Vaughan

Maurice Vaughan

I think I've heard of My Lady Jane, Dawn Prato. I'm about to get Prime again. I'll check it out.

Maurice Vaughan

Valhalla is a Viking show, right, Mark Deuce?

Mark Deuce

Yes Maurice Vaughan it is the sequel to the original and it was season 3. Really was amazing.

Mike Childress

Mark Deuce I finished season three of "Vikings: Valhalla" too. Like the series in general, but think I liked the other seasons better than three...

Mark Deuce

I really liked have all of the characters have grown and to see that in season 3 along with the rich history and being of Viking descent really made me happy Mike Childress

Jane Tumminello

Hi Maurice Vaughan . Just finished season 2 of Interview with the Vampire on AMC. The whole cast is amazing! Really hope there will be a season 3.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Jane Tumminello. I saw the Interview with the Vampire movie. Is the series similar to it?

Jane Tumminello

Maurice Vaughan Yes it's similar but they really expand on the characters and their storylines.

Travis Seppala

Until recently, I was watching all of the Dragonball series (Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball Super, and the webseries Super Dragonball Heroes) as my "breakfast cartoon".

More recently (after I finished all the Goku stuff), my breakfast cartoon was the new show BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER on Amazon Prime. It was a lot of fun and very interesting with some of the changes they made from the source material.

This morning I started watching FUTURAMA as my breakfast cartoon. I only ever saw a few episodes way back when (high school), so watching now.

As for "grownup shows" to watch at night after work... I recently watched THE FIRST on Hulu. I liked it enough - the acting was fucking amazing - but was also disappointed in watching an astronaut show where they basically never go to space (until the finale). I'm assuming I'm not the only one and that's why it never got a season 2.

With my wife, we're currently alternating episodes of TRACKER (which is amazing and it had better get a seasons 2) on CBS and my old dvd box set of LOIS AND CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN.

Also started watching ONE TREE HILL because everyone (including my wife) have always told me that since I'm a big DAWSON'S CREEK fan I'll love ONE TREE HILL. But... after only 2 episodes, I feel ready to throw in the towel on it already. It's waaaaaay too focused on Basketball to the point that nearly every scene has basketball in some way... and I just can't bring myself to care enough. So to those who have always made the comparison to DAWSON'S CREEK? You're all WRONG!!!!!

Maurice Vaughan

I watched Dragonball and Dragonball Z growing up, Travis Seppala. I wasn't a fan of the live-action movie, but I'm sure some people liked it. I haven't seen Futurama in a long time, but it's a hilarious show. And thanks, the Dawson's Creek theme song is stuck in my head. Haha

Travis Seppala

Maurice Vaughan Which one? The original theme (I don't wanna wait) or the replacement theme song (Run like mad)?

Nick Phillips

Wow, this is quite a discussion you've started here Maurice Vaughan! I've took some notes from this thread for some future viewing!

Maurice Vaughan

Travis Seppala “I don’t wanna wait for our lives to be over… Doo doo doo doooo.”

Maurice Vaughan

My longgg watch lists got longer from this discussion, Nick Phillips.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice and Travis, are you two talking about Paula Cole?

Maurice Vaughan

Yeah, Billy Kwack. It's one of my favorite TV theme songs.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, I also like, where have all the cowboys gone

Maurice Vaughan

I haven't heard that song, Billy Kwack. I'll look it up.

Suzanne Bronson

I just finished season 1 of From (5 out of 5 monsters), Season 1 of The Exorcist (4 out of 5 demons), Season 3 of The Good Doctor (3 out of 5 surgeries) finishing up Deep Space Nine, Evil, Seal Team, and the new show Orphan Black: Echoes. Plan on watching Deadpool and Wolverine and Alien Romulus soon. Also The Mayor of Kinsgstown (5 out of 5 prisons)

Billy Kwack

Hi Suzanne, thanks for all the likes

Rutger Oosterhoff

Different kind of humor. The American version is not bad, but for me the English version is better.

Sallie Olson

I just finished binge-watching all ten seasons of Friends. Now I'm onto Terra Nova (really wish they'd made more than one season...)

Maurice Vaughan

"5 out of 5 monsters." :D I haven't seen any of those, Suzanne Bronson. They're on my watch list though, especially From, Deadpool and Wolverine, and Alien: Romulus. I've been ducking spoilers for all three, but I saw spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine. I'm still excited to see the movie though.

Maurice Vaughan

I memorized the opening of the Friends theme song, Sallie Olson. Terra Nova is the dinosaur show, right?

Suzanne Bronson

Terra Nova is good. I'm with Sallie Olson Wish there had been more than one season.

Suzanne Bronson

Oh and I am making my way through Ray Donovan. I think I'm on Season 5 .

Rutger Oosterhoff

Yes, it is Abeeha, and feels more natural, like real office life.

Pat Alexander

Saw Alien: Romulus this weekend and boy was it freaky!

Sallie Olson

Maurice Vaughan Sort of... LOL! There's a time stream and wormhole that allows people to travel back to 85 million years ago without risking disrupting the present/future so they've established a community called Terra Nova. There are dinosaurs that they interact with, but the story centers around the Shannon family and the community and their difficulties with the Sixers who were sent there by the greedy corporations. It's just good, clean fun. "Feel good" kind of show when you want something to watch that isn't too heavy. LOL

Maurice Vaughan

Can't wait to see Alien: Romulus, Pat Alexander! I might do an Alien marathon before watching it since it's been a while since I've seen those movies.

Maurice Vaughan

Terra Nova sounds exciting, Sallie Olson. Too bad it's just one season, but maybe it'll get picked up by another company and have more seasons. I'll like to see that happen with other one-season shows too.

Sallie Olson

Maurice Vaughan I've heard rumors that Firefly might be making a comeback, so there's always hope for Terra Nova, too! LOL

Mike Childress

Sallie Olson Is this legit RUMINT or more fan-driven wish upon a star kind of collective desire from "Firefly" fans?!

Travis Seppala

Sallie Olson The rumors of a Firefly revival have been going on for about a decade now. Same for a Buffy reboot. Both are super unlikely, but I'd believe a Buffy reboot happening over a Firefly revival.

Terra Nova was fun, though. Should have gotten a season 2. I think it was just in a crappy timeslot.

Ingrid Wren

Just finished watching The Wheel of Time, followed by legal drama The Twelve. Enjoyed The Holdovers over the weekend, and I've been watching documentaries like The Lost Tapes of Elizabeth Taylor and Hunt for Truth: Tasmanian Tiger.

Sallie Olson

Mike Childress A friend sent me a link to an article months ago. I don't recall where it was posted or who wrote it. I just remember being excited about it. LOL

Mike Childress

Sallie Olson Hmmm...I will have to do some research...been hearing this same tune for a while now!

Maurice Vaughan

I've been meaning to watch The Holdovers, Ingrid Wren. I like watching documentaries. I'll have to check out The Lost Tapes of Elizabeth Taylor and Hunt for Truth: Tasmanian Tiger.

Robin Gregory

Just discovered the Designated Survivor series. Have you seen it, Maurice Vaughan ? Also, we really liked White Collar.

Maurice Vaughan

I started watching Designated Survivor and White Collar, Robin Gregory. I probably got busy and never got a chance to keep watching them. They're on my watch list though.

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Yesterday I returned to your realm of horror and watched "Abigail". Entertaining. The young actress who plays Abigail is really talented!

Maurice Vaughan

I watched Abigail the other week, Mike Childress. You're right. She's really talented! I liked her performance the best.

Steven R Mitchell

PACHINKO: It tells the story of a Korean family living in Japan, spanning multiple generations and the highs and lows of their lives. It explores themes of identity, resilience, and the pursuit of belonging and is presented in Korean, Japanese and English.

Maurice Vaughan

Sounds interesting, Steven R Mitchell! I'll have to check out PACHINKO.

E Langley

"Bad Monkey." A fun crime comedy/drama.

Maurice Vaughan

Bad Monkey looks fun, E Langley. Vince Vaughn is one of my favorite actors.

E Langley

Great fun. Vaughn's gravelly voice and spin is funny even when delivering serious.

Robin Gregory

Maurice Vaughan and all, has anyone scene the new feature Blink Twice? Warner Brothers. $20M budget. Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut. Saw it yesterday. Super slow beginning that shifts into thriller with extreme gore and violence. Walked out.

Maurice Vaughan

I haven't seen Blink Twice yet, Robin Gregory. Did you think it was just gonna be a slow Drama? Is the switch to a gory, violent Thriller why you walked out?

Sydney S

I am currently watching peaky blinders on netflix!

Maurice Vaughan

Peaky Blinders is on my watch list, Sydney S.

Robin Gregory

Maurice Vaughan Blink Twice is marketed as a psychological thriller. Silly me, I thought "Alfred Hitchcock" not "Jordan Peele" - the difference being the use of shadows, sound, and music to depict violent scenes rather than explicit imagery. Bottom line, Blink Twice should be slated as a horror thriller.

That said, even Jordan Peele creates tension and vital foreshadowing right off in Get Out. First, Chris is nervous about meeting Rose's white parents. Then they hit a deer on the way to the parent's house.. Then Chris, who isn't driving, is harassed by law officers. It's about 20 minutes into the film when the gore comes on. In Blink Twice, it's about an hour of partying and flirtation with weak foreshadowing before the gore starts. Like an hour of backstory before the central conflict is introduced. I can't imagine that even horror thriller fans are okay with this.

Travis Seppala

I'm about to be home alone the next few nights. I think I'm gonna check out either HANDMAID'S TALE or MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE - both shows I've heard are good and want to see, but the wife has no desire to watch.

Maurice Vaughan

An hour of backstory would be tough to get through, Robin Gregory. Unless the characters and backstory were really interesting or exciting. Or if the movie creates tension and vital foreshadowing while the backstory is being shown.

Maurice Vaughan

I've wanted to watch Handmaid’s Tale for a while, Travis Seppala. I might watch the first episode tonight to see how the show is.

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Apologies for resurrecting this thread from the dead haha

Maurice Vaughan

Haha It's cool, Mike Childress.

Travis Seppala

Maurice Vaughan OK. Let's BOTH watch it tonight and exchange notes tomorrow. ;)

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, I sent writer help a couple of messages, they haven't gotten back to me yet. Should I just keep waiting?

Maurice Vaughan

I gotta take a rain check on Handmaid’s Tale, Travis Seppala. I'm exhausted. Thought I'd be able to push through it. I'll probably go to sleep after finishing up with things on Stage 32.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Billy Kwack. Stage 32 gets a lot of emails, so you might not hear back right away.

Suzanne Bronson

I love Peaky Blinders @sydney . And THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE is excellent.

Billy Kwack

Thanks Maurice

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Billy Kwack.

Sydney S

Suzanne, did you finish? I am on season 1!

Suzanne Bronson

No. I haven't. I don't have Netflix. (watched it work on a colleagues account.) Haven't seen Season6. But I watched them so fast.Did not want to stop watching. Made me look forward to work. Cillian Murphy is soooo amazing!

Mike Childress

"Peaky Blinders" is GREAT. Biding my time before a rewatch. Maybe followed by a "Gangs of London" rewatch. I am still amazed I liked season of the "Time Bandits" series (movie reboot). Some great writing and acting.

Maurice Vaughan

I couldn’t sleep, so I ended up watching the first episode of Handmaid’s Tale, Travis Seppala. I won’t spoil it for anyone. I’ll just say the episode and writing are incredible! I didn’t know much about the show before watching it. That’s how I like to watch movies and shows.

Isadora Bittencourt

Currently rewatching Modern Family. A classic! Will check out Late Bloomers soon :)

Maurice Vaughan

I've seen clips of Modern Family, Isadora Bittencourt. It looks funny.

Isadora Bittencourt

It's hilarious! It's a mockumentary like The Office. If you already liked the clips, you'll fall in love with the show.

Maurice Vaughan

I'll check it out, Isadora Bittencourt!

Travis Seppala

Maurice Vaughan I also watched the pilot after work as I said I would. I'm on the fence about it. I'll give it another episode or 2 to decide. I hate the voiceover going throughout - it's something that works in a novel, but in shows and movies endless voiceover just bugs me. I'll be interested to see HOW things went from the "normal" world (from the flashbacks) to the world they're now living in. But my initial impression from the pilot was "Hmmm.... meh? We'll see." So... we'll see how it goes when I watch episode 2.

Maurice Vaughan

I plan on checking out episode 2 as well, Travis Seppala. I wanna see how things went from the "normal" world to the world they're now living in too. I like the voiceovers because SPOILERRR! they let Offred (the main character) express her feelings and talk about things that she wouldn't be able to say to other people without facing consequences.

Mike Childress

"Handmaid's Tale" is decent-ish. People I know who read the book and watched the series say the latter has more action and detail. I actually saw the series was supposed to end with season five...and then saw the season six announcement...

Travis Seppala

Maurice Vaughan Oh, I totally understand WHY they have the voiceover. And the fact there's actually a GOOD reason for it puts it above most voiceover I see in shows/films/scripts. Buuuuuut... it is still an off-putting attribute for me as I found it irksome.

Ricardo Javier Campoli

I'm following The Offer, and I'm fascinated by Al Ruddy's experiences.

Maurice Vaughan

I'm gonna check out episode 2 tonight, Travis Seppala.

Maurice Vaughan

I've heard great things about The Offer, Ricardo Javier Campoli.

Suzanne Bronson

I really liked The Offer. I rate it 5 out of 5 movie tickets.

Regarding current watches, well Season4 of Only Murders In The Building is here, so I just watched Ep 1. I give the show 5 out of 5 podcasts based on cast alone.

Ricardo Javier Campoli

That's right, Maurice Vaughan. The characters in The Offer have this strength of transformation and constant adaptation in all the problems they face. They don't stop for a second. Whatever they do, they are constantly transforming, getting involved and above all passionate about what they love: producing The Godfather.

Bill McCormick

Finally caught up on Umbrella Academy.

Charles Minyem

Hey my name is Charles, I am new here. Script writer . I don't know exactly how is work. I just drop one of my multiple Screenplay. My passion is writing science fiction stories and I hope I will learn more around you guys and also move to the step where I could live from my passion, selling my work and why not become who I expect to be in that field. Thank you

Bill McCormick

Welcome aboard, Charles Minyem

Maurice Vaughan

I'm caught up on Umbrella Academy too, Bill McCormick. Looking forward to the new season.

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Charles Minyem. Welcome to the community. Here’s a blog that’ll help you get around Stage 32: www.stage32.com/blog/navigating-stage-32-for-your-best-experience-3095

You could make an intro post in the Introduce Yourself Lounge: www.stage32.com/lounge/introduce_yourself

Travis Seppala

Been binging all the saw movies trying to watch them all before they leave Hulu on the 1st

Maurice Vaughan

I've seen Saw 1 and 2, Travis Seppala. Maybe 3. You know what's funny? I can't stand to see blood, but I write bloody scripts sometimes.

Morne Patterson

Maurice Vaughan you're a legend bro!

Maurice Vaughan

Wow, Morne Patterson! Legend status. Thanks! Hope you're doing great!

Matthew Kelcourse

Had a ball last night watching (3 times!) the opening Foot Loose sequence of The Umbrella Academy, S3 E1 with my wife. I would LOVE to see an hour-long reel of the rehearsals for that awesome bit. If you haven't seen it, seek it out. It is paradigm-shifting that will lift everyone up into the clouds!

Maurice Vaughan

It's been a while since I've seen The Umbrella Academy, Matthew Kelcourse. I don't remember the Foot Loose sequence. I gotta rewatch that episode. And thanks. The Foot Loose song is stuck in my head now. Haha

Matthew Kelcourse

LOL, Maurice Vaughan - it in the first 5 minutes, never forced, and just POPS from the first note. S3 E1. It even outperforms "Once More with Feeling" :-)

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan I started "Terminator: Zero" this weekend. Duh duh duh duh duh.

E Langley

Getting ready to watch "KAOS". Looks funny.

Lawrence Whitener

"Warehouse 13." Clever.

Maurice Vaughan

That's the animated Terminator series, right, Mike Childress? How do you like it?

Maurice Vaughan

I just looked up KAOS, E Langley. It looks fun! And it's a unique idea! Putting a modern spin on myths.

Maurice Vaughan

I've wanted to see Warehouse 13 for a while, Lawrence Whitener. It's streaming on Prime, so I might watch it soon.

John Clive Carter

Women in Blue (Las Azules) on Apple TV. Combines police procedural with period piece. And the period element - 1970s Mexico City - means that all the procedures are antiquated and the attitudes to our heroine detectives completely messed up. Great fun.

Maurice Vaughan

Women in Blue sounds interesting, John Clive Carter. I don't have Apple TV, but if I end up signing up for it, I'll check out the show. Thanks.

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Correct, zee Anime. It's decent, but not drawing me in like I thought it might. I used to love some Anime circa early-mid 2000s when I was watching stuff like "Ninja Scroll", "Akira", "The Fist of the North Star", etc., but haven't watched a ton as of late. "Blue Eye Samurai" on Netflix was very good. The "Love, Death & Robots" anthology is pure magic. So I took a break from the terminators to head to my comfort lair, i.e. BritBox. Season two of a recent series about EoD police, "Trigger Point", is dropping 5 September and I want to rewatch the first one. I was planning on doing some more writing, but FD decided to go haywire as a result of me opening Scene Navigator so "research" it is!

Maurice Vaughan

A Terminator Anime sounds exciting, Mike Childress! I watched DB and DBZ growing up, but I didn't know they were Anime.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, I seen deadpool 3 yesterday, I loved it

Maurice Vaughan

Cool, Billy Kwack. I'm gonna see it this weekend.

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Interestingly enough, recently, a couple of members of my Fellowship of the Nerds and I got into a semantics debate on what constitutes "Anime" (really just the Japanese word for "animation", but other characteristics determine the genre-acceptance too). My siblings were the DB/DBZers.

Maurice Vaughan

Oh, cool, Mike Childress. I didn't know there were different characteristics for Anime. I thought Anime was any show or movie that has the Anime style.

Billy Kwack

Hi Maurice, cool

Mike Childress

Maurice Vaughan Then there are different styles of Anime which aim to target different demographics!
