Here’s the jist: evolving from a pitch session with producer Alexia Melocchi of Little Studio Films, we have signed an Agreement to work together to package my CALLAS a 6-part limited series biopic based on the turbulent life & career of opera legend, Maria Callas. I am most grateful to RB, Jason Mirch, Amanda Toney, Angela Cristantello, Kay Ross, Brooklynn Fields and Molly Peck for their wonderful support and encouragement for CALLAS, plus my steadfast supporters in the Writer’s Room: Nicole Thompson, Rebecca Glazer Greene, John Mezes, Jill Hargrave, Louisa Kendrick and Carol Ryavec. This project is many years in the making, so my fellow screenwriters/filmmakers..."never say die." Keep a light in the window always. You worked long & hard at refining your pitch, but from the first it was evident you knew your subject well and were passionate about your project. I could envision the series from your first pitch and commented then as I do now, "I would watch that!!" Who doesn't live a rags to riches true story, with fabulous singing & international locations? We both have seen documentaries about our subject - but seeing a limited series about the story would be so much more powerful showing the story about the amazing characters.
