My husband and I set up a website for Screenwriters and Writers with the intent of sharing all of the resources we stumbled upon while trying to get ourselves educated on both screenwriting and writing. If anyone has any resources that you feel we should add; I'd love to hear from you! The site is http://www.infoforwriters.com. Also, if you have any suggestions for other topics, please let me know. My blog is pretty popular www.gideonsway.wordpress.com
Peter - thank you for the suggestion! I will see what I can find. Here on Stage 32, there was a webinar offered by Lane Shefter Bishop called: Taking You Book or Screenplay from proposal to published to produced. Although it includes the information on books, it also spent a good amount of time on query letters. I'll do some more research and I'll send you a message to let you know when I've updated the site.
J.G. - I've added your blog site: http://infoforwriters.wordpress.com/about/resources-for-writers/blogs/ Thank you!

I like the concept, Dawn but you're missing two of the biggest and most important screenwriting contests, The Nicholl and Austin http://www.oscars.org/nicholl/about http://www.austinfilmfestival.com/submit/screenplayandteleplay/ Have you considered breaking down the screenwriting contests into a feature category and a short category? Also, one of the most important sites for me is Terry Rossio's Wordplay site. His collection of columns is what encouraged me to write my first words. http://www.wordplayer.com/ Don't worry about adding Trigger Street Labs to your list . It's shutting down in January and thus will no longer be available. Keep up the good work.

Hi Dawn, I would suggest maybe adding writing retreats. We offer such a retreat as well as information and services on several of the listed topics (all genres of writing). We also have a section of free resources including articles, podcasts, and video lectures. We are Jacob Krueger Studio at www.writeyourscreenplay.com. We are accessible in NYC and online. Thanks for pulling this information together.
Eoin, Thank you so much for the additional suggestions! (There's a few on here I knew about and can't believe I didn't include). I really appreciate your input and will add these to the site. Dawn
Pierre, Thank you for taking the time to review and provide feedback - I greatly appreciate it! Great idea about breaking down the contests - I will do that. If you think of anything else, please let me know. Again, thank you!
Brian, Great idea - I hadn't even thought about retreats! I appreciate your feedback and will definitely incorporate your suggestions. Thank you!
All, Thank you VERY much for taking the time to review the site and provide your feedback. I sincerely appreciate it. I am truly hoping this site will save others the hours I spent trying to figure out what screenwriting was all about. If anyone else has suggestions - please share!
